I've recently switched to using OS X, and it'd be nice if Apple were to add an optional multi-button functionality to its laptops (beyond [ctrl][click], which requires two hands to be done comfortably). This program looks like a work-around, though I haven't tried it yet.

Personally, I never understood the big deal about one vs two buttons on the Mac. Apple has supported two buttons via any cheap 3rd party mouse for some time. While my 3-year-old has no problem using a two button mouse, my father in-law has never grasped the concept. I'm a sysadmin and some of the users I support get that deer-in-the-headlights look when I tell them to right-click (these are the same users that don't understand directory hierarchy... but thanks to things like Spotlight, they wont need me to find their files anymore).

So IMHO the one-button mouse is not as stupid and out-dated an idea as some seem to think. I wont be buying a Mighty Mouse, but Apple has provided an elegant solution that allows both power users and novices to work of the same computer.

Really, why would Apple want Tivo? Last I heard tivo was starting to fall on hard times.

Far better off just making their own PVR software. You can already hack together a pretty nice PVR using a Motorola DCT-6200 and a Mac. see here : http://macteens.com/more.php?id=410_0_1_0_C

The only reason Apple might want tivo is to leverage themselves somehow into the way that cable/satellite/ip content is distributed, just to block M$ push. Maybe i'm missing something but I don't see how buying tivo would help much if any with this.

That said I would love to see a nice Mac Mini DVR from Apple. That said if they don't make one, not too hard to make one yourself.

I am a big homosexual. I bought an Apple computer because of its well earned reputation for being "the" gay computer. Since I have become an Apple owner, I have been exposed to a whole new world of gay friends. It is really a pleasure to meet and compute with other homos such as myself. I plan on using my new Apple computer as a way to entice and recruit young schoolboys into the homosexual lifestyle; it would be so helpful if you could produce more software which would appeal to young boys. Actually, Looks like Macteens beat them.

1. Your troll was too long winded. This is usually a dead giveaway to the bots that they're reading a troll. Things like footnotes need to be left out. If it's worth including, it's worth including in the main body. If it's relegated to footnotes or parentheses, it should probably be cut. This is a troll, not a research paper.
2. Apple fans are jaded to this argument. As hard as it is to believe, Slashdot is not MacTeens, so saying "Apple sucks," no matter how curtly or longwindedly, is not going to garner the response it might on other sites. Slashdot is good for Linux zealots. Slashdot's Apple fans tend be a little more mellow than, say, those on MacSlash.
3. Your post smells like a cut-and-paste of Dvorak's tripe: Too much like a magazine article (see #1).

Remember to keep it simple. With every bit of information you want to add to the piece, ask if it's relevant. Is it acting as filler that you need? Is it making a point or setting up a mark for a kneejerk reaction? Or are you just impressing yourself by seeing your wordcount grow every time you check it? Impact, impact, impact. This is something the British trolls never got and why you could spot them a mile away.
