Softwear
Does that come in a size nine?
:)I'm not familiar with the numbered sizes, but you can buy Mozilla Firefox softwear in small, medium, large, and XL.
ObTopic: Mozilla Firefox software and other cross-platform applications are useful as a gentle method of training users on GNU/Linux compatible apps before switching them to GNU/Linux.

Clarifications
A Firefox developer --> actually, Blake Ross (yes, we've heard of him before, and writer of the Firefox guide book)
why Firefox will never grow up --> from the article, "Firefox is growing and maturing--there's no question about it. But as long as we're around, it'll never fully grow up. So sit back, relax, and await the delicious delicacies that The Ocho will have to offer."
Website has gone down, so not sure how inflamatory the "controversial ... developer recruitment philosophy" line is. -
Re:Maybe...
Yep. You can even get a plush red panda from the Mozilla store.
Mine lives on top of the bookcase in my living room. -
Re:A Manual
You mean like the Mozilla Guidebook?
-
Re:A Manual
I know it does not sound like much but I think a manual is what Mozilla really needs.
Like this?

There is a manual. Go buy one at the Mozilla Store. http://www.mozillastore.com/products/software/fir

A firefox is a red panda
I mean what the heck is a firefox?
The fact that a lot of users of Mozilla Firefox have their UA switched to the arguably cuter "Firepanda" might give you a hint. A firefox is a red panda (Google image search or buy plush toy).

If you don't trust the mirrors
...you are free to obtain a FireFox CD direct from the publisher.

Re:Verisign Code Signing CertificateAnybody can buy a verisign cert. Anybody.
Just click on the "Buy Now" link at their site.
Self-certifying would cause more problems than it would solve, as most of the world is using IE, and IE will pop up a dialog box saying that the cert isn't from a recognized source.
If people were really worried, all they would have to do is buy the CD http://www.mozillastore.com/products/software/fir
e foxcdguidebook/?r=mozorg- CD and Guide book - $14.95
- CD with Firefox and Thunderbird - $5.95

Re:Just acquired a copy
Well, that problem is actually caused by a newly confirmed bug in Illustrator that was discovered during the production of this ad!
Apparently Illustrator treats "half-spaces" (which I used on either side of the bullet characters) differently than InDesign and not the same as it does "spacebar spaces". I struggled to find a solution to this in conjunction with an Adobe engineer (who supports Firefox enthusiastically, mind you!) but we didn't figure out the solution until it was too late.
However, the names in the poster will be justified correctly. -
Re:Just how exactly are they paying for this?
There are no ads on their homepage or within their product that generate income, so just how exact are they funding their project (and advertisement).
The ad was paid for by donations (~10,000 people raised ~$250,000). In general, the project is funded by donations (some from large companies like AOL and individuals like Mitch Kapor), income from the Mozilla Store and business deals (I'm not sure if they do yet, but they plan to get revenue from the searches they refer to the engines in the Firefox Search bar). Some companies pay them to do specific work: Nokia is funding Minimo in this way.
They also get non-monetory donations. Companies like IBM and Sun employ hackers to code on Mozilla and many organisations offer services like free FTP mirroring.

Re:The word you are looking for is "vulpine"
Wrong on both counts. According to the Mozilla store the firefox is a red panda (Ailurus fulgens), not a fox and not a canine of any kind.
According to the site:
In case you didn't know, the Chinese name for a red panda is hunho or firefox, due to their color and similar size to a fox. -

Re:Please tell me
Why should I switch from Mozilla to Firefox?
Because you get more girls.
Or are you saying girls prefer big scary lizards to cuddly firefox plush toys? -
Re:Portion of the donations
The site is linked to in Firefox! Check out Help > Promote Firefox so it definitely is official. The donation link goes to the official Mozilla store. The spreadfirefox site is owned by Blake Ross one of the key Mozilla developers.

Donation link
As spreadfirefox.com is dogged by the slashdotting you may want to go direct to the donation page that explains more and allows you to sign up. Basically it's $30 per name you'd like to appear on the advert. I donated $300 (the maximum personal donation) you don't need to enter more names than you actually need.

This is on my next to donate to list
Last Christmas my G/F got me a Slashdot T-Shirt from Thinkgeek. (Yes I am a
/.er with a GF) I wear it proudly (except on dupe days) and often times people ask me what the T-Shirt means and I get to share the wonderfulness that is Slashdot.
Today I donated to FireFox, actually I got one of the new T-Shirts and some stickers to put on my car but that counts right? It felt great. Sure it was a bit much for a T-Shirt, but I know that the profit is going to something I actually care about and I can only imagine how happy I will feel wearing that shirt around town, speaking the word of mozilla to all who ask about my shirt.
Next on my list to donate to is the EFF, and I think I get a nifty bumper sticker for that too.
I really want to donate to wikipedia, I use it all the time. I find myself getting bored, then researching something random on wikipedia, and an hour later I've got 50 tabs open in FireFox and I'm super happy. I just thought I would point out to everyone that Wikipedia has T-Shirts available at cafepress.com/wikipedia.
Ok, enjoy the rest of your day. -
Cute and cuddly plush toy
They are so cudley! I bet they would rip my head off as soon as frisk me for loose change...
So skip the "rip my head off" part and go straight to the loose change so you can buy a buy a plush toy.

Re:Not Even The Half Of It!
This shirt will be very handy the next time the open source community is accused of being dirty communists.

Not Even The Half Of It!how Firefox is being plugged. It's pretty obvious IMHO from the site that Firefox has the wind in its sails
Let's talk understatement here. You don't offer this kind of thing without a significant commitment to the package.

Re:This is good news
'If you look at the copyright notice in the Netscape Store article linked to in the story you'll also notice that the store is run by MozSource which is the retail arm of the Mozilla Foundation.'
Not true. MozSource is a trading name for E-Flo, an completely independent company. E-Flo have been contracted to run the Netscape Store for donkey's years. Soon after the Mozilla Foundation was created, it quickly made a deal with E-Flo to run its store.
See http://www.mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=3 552 and http://www.mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=3 833 for more details. -
Re:Speaking of funding
The best way to support the foundation is to just make a donation, you can do that from the Mozilla Store, it only makes sense to buy the CD if you actually want the CD.

Re:Pretty Cool
It would be a little silly to sell a product when you distribute the source for it on your website.
Huh? MySQL, Red Hat, Mozilla CD, Slackware Store, etc, etc. -
Re:People care?
I must add that these people are so used to IE being wrapped around Windows that installing a new browser seems like a major effort. I feel comfortable using Windows, installing apps, etc, and yet I, too, was in this category for a while. But now I use Firefox and tell everyone I can; I even bought a shirt (very nice).
Again, I think Mozilla needs to stress the fact that users can try it without FUD and, should they wish, go back. For this reason it is imperative that the next release have "upgrading" built-in for Windows users, which Mozilla says is coming "Upgrading will be fixed in a future release" (source), to ease the switch. It must be as easy as possible.
