I think you mean namecheap.com. I also use them with no complaints.

Re:Go...daddy
Sorry, but Godaddy has the best prices and service I could find.
...assuming you don't need DNS hosting, that is.
Namecheap - eNom reseller, everything GoDaddy has plus DNS, offers WHOIS protection for only $2.88/year unlike GoDaddy's $9/year.

Re:Gaining/Losing registrars
I don't know why everyone loves GoDaddy so much. They charge an extra $9/year for WHOIS protection, which really adds up if you have a lot of domains. Meanwhile, sites RegisterFLY offers WHOIS protection for $0.99-$2.50/year (depending on the sale) and NameCheap is offering it for free right now. Both are eNom resellers. And RegisterFLY offers an alternating spam-filtered e-mail address with every domain at no extra charge, which rocks.
The one time I registered a domain with GoDaddy, it seemed very difficult to add/modify DNS records. Why? If I didn't want DNS, I'd go with one of those $6.49 registrars. -
Re:Blogging Services useless to me.
you've only mentioned evil registrars (have a look out there for godaddy horror stories)
www.namecheap.com is good. I can recommend them. And it's only 8.88US a pop, which if you're foreign like me, is about $0.30 in local currency :D -
Re:Some registrars will protect you
I wrote up a review of the domain registrars I've been with. I liked RegisterFly the best because they seem to have the most bang for the buck and offer 99 cents WHOIS protection. If you're looking for 24x7 phone support, however, you'd probably want to go with GoDaddy, Register.com, or NetSOL. RegisterFly is an eNom reseller, and to date, I've had good experience with eNom. I noticed NameCheap, another eNom reseller, currently offers WHOIS protection for free, although it may be a limited time offer.

namecheap!
namecheap.com
$8.88 USD domain registry, and like 5$ a year for a 'whoisguard' subscription per domain per year..nobody is getting your info without subpoena
I use them for all of my domains, and couldnt imagine using anyone else..
Also.. you should be wary of godaddy.. i've heard of them snatching up peoples domain for no good reason.. -
Re:Try AutoRenew
> First step is to transfer them all to a lower priced registrar: Reason for this is easy, registrars are now a commodity and the lowest price wins. I use godaddy for everything and have found their customer service to be pretty good.
I would say that the best price/features combination should win.
Personally, I find the package offered by eNom to be very comprehensive, their suppot quite good and the price cheap - as long as you buy through a reseller and not directly from eNom (e.g., $8.88/year from namecheap).
If you don't need to use eNom's DNS services, you can buy just a domain name for $5.99.
Free dynamic DNS service is a nice addition.
GoDaddy seems to be good too and they have a promotion on .com ($7.95) and .us ($4.95) domains until the end of the year.
I wonder how their package compares to eNom's. -
Re:godaddy.com
Namecheap.com Beats you by a few cents (only $8.88/yr) plus it has a great web interface. URL Forwarding, domain transfers, dynamic DNS and a bunch of other things are made pretty easy too

NameCheap.com Rock
I've been using NameCheap for quite some time and I'm very happy with them.
Nice clean interface, free dns, dns changes are reflected immediately, and their support is pretty decent. They use perldesk or something for support which I've found works well since they are quite responsive.
And to top it off.. they're cheap! $8.88
I've used joker.com in the past, and they're okay and cheap...but really really difficult if to deal with if you're in North America and need to talk to a real person, or need to send them a letter since they're in germany. -
Re:Choosing a Good Registrar
I regisetered my domain with eNom via one of their resellers - PolarDomains.
(Note that eNom does most of its business through resellers. While their advertised prices are quite high, the resellers offer the same packages for much lower prices, sometimes less than $9.
Here is a a list of services included in the base price. Plus, they recently added free Dynamic DNS services.
