Re:Fake News!!! Was this CNN or NBC?
When I watched it I thought something looked wrong, but I couldn't say exactly what.
All the major news outlets and FOX covered it:

Re:The king of expensive repairs
Oooo, they are now?
[...]
Oh, no, seems like they are trying to provide a LOCK-IN repair experience.Wow, such drama.
You're right of course that if you want to fix your own car, Tesla is the wrong brand to buy.
Tesla promised they were "working on" opening up repairs. They said this 22 months ago and there has been no news about it since then as far as I know.
https://electrek.co/2017/01/30/tesla-opening-up-service-replacement-parts/
The good news is that Teslas are quite easy to repair, assuming you can get the parts.
Elon Musk has said that they will open up repairs eventually but hasn't promised a specific time. He has also said that Tesla will only try to break-even on repairs, never treat them as a profit center. Musk is a believer in Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming and wants to get everyone switched over to electric cars, so I don't think he's lying about the repairs, but I must admit that there's no end in sight to Tesla being uncooperative about owner and third-party repairs.

Re:So...
Most of my friends are die-hard Republicans, but I don't know a single person who (admitted) voting for Trump. I suspect that's because this election wasn't really fought along typical Republican vs Democrat, leftie vs rightie lines.
And that's exactly what it is. You'll find people from both sides of the isle voted for Trump because of what Hillary stood for. The reality is there was more support for Trump because he wasn't establishment, she was. They feel that the current state of government doesn't represent the people. That's why he had the support. The media is at a loss, and still hasn't learned anything from it though.
A lot of people like myself, who are or were heavily invested in politics saw this coming. This has been building for ~20 odd years, and it's very close to reaching the full-on shoot politicians in the streets. The Tea Party stuff was a warning sign, just like AfD, FN, and so on are warning signs. The media refused to listen, the politicians refused to listen. In the end Trump is far less extreme then the next candidate would have been. Just like Le Pen is, just like Frauke Petry is.
I also think there are a lot of people who are in the "I would never vote for Trump" crowd, because they don't want to be associated with some of his more bizarre stances, who secretly voted for Trump when no one was looking.
It's more likely they don't want to be targeted or attacked. You can seem multiple cases of that all over the US. Unlike the people who claimed "Trump supporters" attacked them. Those people who made the claims are being charged with filing false police reports. Off the top of my head, I can think of fake rape, fake assaults, fake vandalism, fake flyers, fake deportation letters, fake claims of harassment and mugging.

Re:There's more to come...
Where to start? Perhaps you could start by reading the articles you've linked, or maybe even going to the actual sources of those stories? Allow me to help:
1) The Thornton Law firm (straw donor program) -- The Boston Globe reports that at least 21 politicians nationwide, including Senator Elizabeth Warren, have agreed to give back or give-away over $600,000 received from the law firm. Given that no charges have yet been brought, nor have federal authorities even begun investigating the case, it looks to me like the Democrats who received donations from the Thornton firm are being about as above-board regarding this unfortunate incident as you could reasonably ask them to be.
2) Patriot Majority USA (voter fraud ring) -- As other posters in this thread have noted, the investigation is for alleged voter registration issues, not voting fraud. However, a total of 10 suspicious registration forms, out of the 40,000 the group claims to have submitted, certainly isn't going to move the election one iota in either direction, and this incident seems a far cry from the kind of fraud you appear to be alleging.
3) Peter Kadzik email on May 19th, 2015 -- As CNN points out in a recent article, the filing referred to in the email had already been made public a day before Mr. Kadzik sent his email. However, aside from that point, I'd agree it does look like Mr. Kadzik intended to tip-off the Clinton campaign, and I would also agree that even the appearance of impropriety in a Justice Department official should be investigated.
4) Peter Kadzik supposedly in charge of reopened investigation -- Again, as CNN reported in the article linked above, Peter Kadzik is not involved in any known Justice Department investigations regarding the Clinton family. Obviously, if Mr. Kadzik isn't involved the investigations, there is no conflict of interest, making his relationship with John Podesta, or his son's relationship with Podesta for that matter, wholly immaterial. Even Republican Senator Trey Gowdy, who chaired the House Select Committee on Benghazi, admits Mr. Kadzik isn't a decision-maker at the Department of Justice.
5) Hopewell Baptist Church fire -- Unfortunately, your YOUCARING link appears dead, but several sources confirm that the Hopewell church was likely set on fire Tuesday night, with the message 'Vote Trump' spray-painted around the same time. As the article points out, there's likely no way to know for sure if Trump supporters started the fire, but it's certainly troubling. However, I have no doubt that the community of Greenville will pull together and rebuild the damage, and I imagine some of that help will likely come from Republicans, including those supporting Trump in the election.

There's more to come...
So much crap is going down right now.... where to even start.
There's a straw donor program that just got busted as well as a voter fraud ring in Indiana.
We have the DOJ giving the heads up which you can read here. This was forwarded by one Peter Kadzik, who you might remember as being put in charge of the reopened investigation. Conflict of interest much? Podesta says he's a "Fantastic lawyer. Kept me out of jail." His son wants to help Hillary's campaign. Plenty of other emails of them having lunch, parties, etc. together too, incidentally.
An African-American church was burned down and people are raising money to repair it.

Re: If you take the bait
Was it clueless, or was it deliberate?
Mayday, incidentally, should be a strikingly American day on the calendar, as it commemorates the May Day Massacre which happened in Chicago. The people killed were Communists and Anarchists, though, so it isn't gonna go on the Official Holiday Calendar in the US.

Re:One thing is for sure
I skimmed TFA, Illinois wasn't on the list, either, despite this:
Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has signed two bills into law that aim to increase the use of electric vehicles around the state.
The governor signed the documents Saturday in front of a Walgreens store near downtown Chicago that has a charging station for electric vehicles.
TFA is fluff, but I still expect to read some interesting comments.

Re:All guns are dangerous...
Gun laws don't prevent gun violence as criminals are already breaking the law. However if one of the victims had been allowed to carry his weapon legally there might have been far fewer casualties.
One point I never see being brought up is the difference between an armed criminal and a person with a gun. Put quite frankly, the criminal is already less invested in maintaining a peaceful situation because he is armed and engaging in a criminal act. However, a person with a gun is still invested in maintaining peace in the situation, at least slightly moreso than the criminal, because up to that point, he is still a law-abiding citizen with a gun. Once Person With A Gun pulls that gun with the intent to maim or kill, that person may meet the criminal head-on in investiture, but will still be a step behind because he hasn't yet abandoned the notion of peaceable society with respect to worrying about bystanders, safety, and other factors that come with the operation of a dangerous and deadly weapon in the presence of others. The armed criminal has already abandoned that concern and has no need to control aim or reduce threat to onlookers. So our would-be hero is operating a day late and a dollar short, so to speak, crippled by lack of response and multiple areas of concern, and that's not entirely a bad thing.
I don't know of a single, sane, CC permit-holder ready to rush in and play Rambo in a situation like that, because, presumably, they understand the gravity of the situation. The minute the ability or desire to fire the gun trumps the concern for the safety is when responsible gun owner becomes not-so-responsible.

Re:All guns are dangerous...
Because its not like you couldn't call the police if people are doing unsafe things with guns. In a lot of places there are laws about the safe handling of weapons.
And I'm sure the police and those laws were a great comfort to all of those victims of gun violence and rampage shootings, and 100% effectively prevented any deaths.
Gun laws don't prevent gun violence as criminals are already breaking the law. However if one of the victims had been allowed to carry his weapon legally there might have been far fewer casualties.

Re:The "Mid-West" accent?
Nah, Garrison Kiellor has a very unique voice and accent. I can't even really place it, the way he hangs on certain words is just weird. Poetic and pleasant, but I've never heard someone "naturally" sound like him.
Here's a random video from a Chicago newscast:
http://www.nbcchicago.com/video/#!/news/local/Chicago-Marine-Killed-in-Afghanistan/141258583
The female narrator has a midwestern "standard" accent, which a lot of people associate with hollywood movies where the people are supposed to have a non-ethic, "neutral" accent. Not from New York, not a Sarah Palin-esque "north woods" accent, but is supposed to be just "normal people"-sounding. Most American TV shows feature this accent.
The man speaking in the video (the Marine's father) has a somewhat Chicago-sounding accent, but not too strong.
Both fairly good examples of a midwest accent.

Tell a meth head they're only getting 50 cents for meth instead of 50 bucks for meth a couple times, they'll figure out that using a magnet might be a good idea.
Any activity that consumes significant time, yet doesn't pay enough money to support a drug habit, is tantamount to "rehab".

Re:Why the issues with illegal alien?
Illegal immigration is definitely a bigger issue in the US than it is in the UK, I am from one place and live in the other. Most people held in the UK are asylum seekers who are held until their case comes up for review. The UK has a law that says they aren't allowed to deport people to countries where their life may be threatened. This has caused some stalling in deportations and longer incarcerations. Those people picked up on immigration raids who have no passport are typically released on bail for 6 months - this is a huge problem and most of the time means they are not deported and continue to work illegally. In the US you can be held indefinitely for a possible immigration offense and have no right to a lawyer. Ethnic profiling is a REALLY bad idea. How can you prove that the person is not a citizen? There are documented cases of US citizens almost being, or actually being deported because ICE determined they were illegal immigrants. One sad case was a US citizen of Mexican origin who was mentally ill and deported. USCIS picked up on the mistake when he tried to cross the US border to get home. Another was a born US citizen. He was picked up and ICE believed him to be an illegal Russian immigrant - he was detained and avoided deportation after his family found out about his situation via the news. Just found the story: http://www.startribune.com/nation/14456137.html. Then there's another recently: http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local-beat/eduardo-caraballo-puerto-rico-deportion-94795779.html

Re:Anthrax...
The anthrax attacks hit the Capitol at the same time legislators were being pressured to pass the PATRIOT Act. The anthrax attacks delivered the unspoken message to our representatives that "nobody is safe from terrorists".
I'm not saying that Vice President Cheney was involved in any way, but you've got to admit that his agenda, formed long before September of 2001, got a big boost from the attacks.
Obviously though, he's far too nice of a guy to ever do anything underhanded.
Yep, just like Barack Obama's far too nice a guy to engineer a financial crisis as a pretext for nationalizing/taking over large banks in the name of "reform", while cozying up to Goldman-Sachs CEO:
While Goldman Sachs' lawyers negotiated with the Securities and Exchange Commission over potentially explosive civil fraud charges, Goldman's chief executive visited the White House at least four times.
Seen the redactions from Blogo's Obama subpeona? The ones that say Obama lied about the sale of his Senate seat and his ties to Tony Rezko?
Or would nice-guy Obama LIE to the public about the cost of Obamacare:
President Obama's health care overhaul law will increase the nation's health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.
How about this from the NY Times, that suddenly gets run now that we all have magic health care from heaven thanks to the world's biggest celebrity:
New York’s insurance system has been a working laboratory for the core provision of the new federal health care law — insurance even for those who are already sick and facing huge medical bills — and an expensive lesson in unplanned consequences. Premiums for individual and small group policies have risen so high that state officials and patients’ advocates say that New York’s extensive insurance safety net for people like Ms. Welles is falling apart.
Gee, sure would have been nice of the NY Slimes to run that story a month or so ago, eh? But no, Baracky sure didn't know he was LYING about his claims that Obamacare would reduce health care costs, now did he?
Oh, but tinfoil-hat loons like you get modded up for jumping on the "Cheney and all Rethuglicans are teh eviilll!!!" shit-for-brains bandwagon?
When Obama's lies regarding health care are going to directly cost people about ten thousand dollars each - per year? While the Obama/Pelosi deficits would pay for the ENTIRETY of BOTH wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in about eight months?
Gotta love how the same people who spent 8 years screaming "Dissent is patriotic!" are now trying to label dissenters as "seditious" and "dangerous".
