Re:Inertia
I'm not claiming that QWERTY is the best layout for typing- in fact, it's generally accepted that it almost certainly isn't.
Actually QWERTY is the worst. It was designed specifically so typists couldn't type faster than the mechanical techniques of the day would allow. Look up the history of typewriters; the first didn't use separate letters on separate levers; they used a carrier that moved up and down and turned on it's axis (long before the Selectric), and even the earliest electrics used an electric motor to wind up a spring which would pull back the 'hammer' to be released after the keypress caused the carrier to move into position.
See the Vari-Typer: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/varityper.html
When I was eight years old my aunt gave me one of these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:AmericasBestComics2650.jpg
When I was thirteen she got me one of these: http://machinesoflovinggrace.com/large/Royal%20Heritage.jpg
It was probably a good investment; by 1960 in typing class in high school I was typeing 65 cwpm on one of these: http://blog.ohinternet.com/5394/manufacturing-of-typewriters-finally-ends/1951_ibm_electric_typewriter_adx/
A few years letter I was a typographer, and got into computers as typography did.
QWERTY has survived because of all the people who've been taught it, and even the efficient Dvorak keyboard (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvorak_Simplified_Keyboard) couldn't couldn't replace it.

Re:Don't get it
Where the hell is everyone going that the personal computer has to suddenly become "mobile computing"?
Where the hell is everyone going that the personal telephone has to suddenly become "mobile phone"? Yet look what happened to land lines and especially pay phones over the past decade.
I still can't find anything so freaking important that requires a computer while I'm going from point A to point B.
How about working on a personal programming project to fill my portfolio while I commute to and from a day job on the bus? That's what I do with my 10" laptop.
Remember how we were all going to have netbooks?
I have a 10" laptop because it's enough computer for my needs while being small enough to carry.
Well, couple years have gone by and they're still just shopping interfaces
If by shopping you mean "photo manipulation", I do that with GIMP on my 10" laptop.

Re:Underestimation?
Wait a minute... I see what you did there!
I don't know whether did you noticed but the software that you seem to be so addicted to is not part of the Windows as such. It is a third-party software and you know, applications can be developed on Linux too! If this company would have the balls they would release their software for other platforms too, such as OSX and Gnome/KDE. If you love that software, you should email them to send over the source code so you can make a version for Linux. Predictably, they won't send you the source code to use it on the system of your choice.
So you're saying that you're confined to Windows because of this piece of software. It's really sad because gnome and nautilus can be enhanced to whatever you would like to do with them. Also, there are other file managers like this Laziness isn't a good excuse, especially when you are already using a third-party software.

Re:Windows 8
So however you want to twist it, you know you are wrong and your logic fails. But you get to think you scored points for your objet de desire so I guess that's what makes you happy. Enjoy.

Re:Theldala gonna to be gettin' PAID!
I'll save you the 2.5 seconds of googling required to discover that it's an internet meme.

Know your meme
"I accidentally [no verb] blah" is an internet meme dating back to 2008. See the following:

Re:Cell phone camera's
I'm just saying that comparing (example) my Iphone 4 camera to a digital SLR is like apples to oranges.
"Apples" to Oranges? Hmmm.......
FWIW, Apples' phones may be restricted by their being stuck in a mobile phone, but so are Oranges'. ;-) -

Re:positive feedback increasing number of lawyers
Fer cryin' out loud - your UID says you've been online long enough to know about this phenomenon
Now all that said? Seriously - your profession does leave a whole hell of a lot to be desired, all things considered. So while I certainly do not condone the GP's proposed action, I can easily understand why he expressed the sentiments.

Re:Is this what it has come down to?
It's good that sony had to fix their security because of this, and i'm glad to see powerful and corrupt people get the comeuppance they need (and the issue of data security made starkly clear to people that are otherwise blissfully ignorant), but the very name "LulzSec" indicates that their motivation was amusing themselves through the misfortune of other people, not these collateral benefits.

Offended? Thanks for your concern.
If I link someone to an offensive image (not that I would!)
Come on, don't be a pussy, do it ! (NSFW, beware of the dragons and other general warnings apply here) (good luck litigating against Switzerland, Tennessee !)
There's a non-offensive SFW version here.
BTW both pages are in the first page of Google results for "offended". -
