They actually wrote a script for a sequel. A good one. A really, really good one. It had everything. It explained the missing links of the first one. It cast Morpheus into a MUCH darker light. And presented a really interesting dilemma: Is it acceptable to kill billions to free a few thousands. The dialogue between the Agents and Neo near the end alone is an absolutely priceless goosebumps moment of high cinema.

Read it yourself. And weep that this movie never saw the light.

I own the movie on DVD, but ironically, I had to go to a Russian site for the transcript.

And that's the only time it's said in that entire movie, in that huge paragraph. It's emphasized at least 3 times in Boiler Room.

About the only thing you can argue is that Boiler Room made more of a focus on the term "whale" than Casino did since Boiler Room's story was all about going after whales, whereas in Casino going after the whale was only mentioned in the opening of the film. That aside, don't argue about how many times a movie uses a word. That's a stupid argument:

Judging by the box office success of each film, I would have to conclude that more people heard the term "whale" from Casino than they did from Boiler Room even despite the latter film's heavier emphasis within the story.

That line is even funnier if you read the original script. The grumpy scientist he encounters at the interview, Dr. Dodd, originally replied differently:

CHRIS: ...Nice to meet you Dr. Dodd. Isn't the Telcom raining debris all over Europe?
DODD (smiling, but angry): That was a launch problem, not a design problem...

It also set Sherry Nugil up with a genius fetish, which provides more context for when she attempts to sleep with Mitch, etc:

SHERRY (O.C): (between kisses) Talk smart to me.
CHRIS (O.C.): What?
ANGLE ON CHRIS AND SHERRY
They are lying in the middle of the dish. Passion mounts, fingers cope with belts and buttons, clothing falls away; my god, these people are having sex.

CHRIS: I guess right now I'd have to say Fluid Mechanics.
SHERRY: Oooooooooh...
CHRIS (responding to something interesting Sherry just did with her hips): And Gym.

CHRIS: Extracting the fuels is no problem.

CHRIS: Getting them to combine and release the energy is the problem.

I can't remember -- does the voiceover explain this is aggravating detail, or do they actually let the audience figure out that much?

Haha... Found a script, and yeah, the voiceover actually says "Gaff had been there, and let her live." in a voiceover after he picks up the unicorn. Man, were they willing to let the audience figure out -anything-? I mean, everyone is welcome to their opinion, I just find it hard to imagine why anyone would enjoy being coddled that much.
