My MAIN reason used to be for increasing speed (which that does 2 ways, really 3 vs. inferior slower usermode browser addons) since ads represent roughly 40-50% of webpage content on major sites nowadays which slow you bigtime...

HOWEVER:

The REAL REASON currently, & since around, oh, 2004 when the "malware explosion online" pretty much started (I say that since my known bad sites EXPLODED in counts vs. previous years & not from finding new sources of blocking data so much, but just a HUGE increase occurred)?

Even MalwareBytes AntiMalware (best one) DEMANDS you use admin privelege (you saying it's "bad" too?) it can't do its job fully otherwise, like many security tools do!
