In what world are you downloading legal torrents?

The creators of Star Trek Continues voluntarily released all of their episodes as BitTorrent files (Blu-Ray and DVD disc images).

JJ and the reboot of 'Star Trek' make mediocre action films, but they aren't Star Trek anymore.

The fundraising issue really bothers me. I know that Star Trek Continues had done some fundraising and was producing 45m episodes that were excellent. The production value was amazing, and they recreated parts of the set that were very convincing.

This may shut that down, without special dispensation from cbs/p.

I watched the three episodes of Trek continues a while back. There were only three back then.I haven't had a chance to watch the latest two. Some of the actors could have been better, and it takes a little bit of getting used to them not being the same people as were in TOS. But the stories were pretty good, and the sets, wardrobe and effects were spot on. While you could make better special effects on most home PC's, they kept all of the CGI looking pretty damn close to the original series. I enjoyed it enough that I re-watched the original series again afterward.

So he's off to work on Star Trek Continues then?

Blame Roddenberry for the annoying earli Ilia...I mean Troi. One of the most hated Troi-centric TNG episodes in Season 2 was a Star Trek Phase II script intended for Lt. Ilia

But the reason I mentioned Sirtis was one of those fan-made trek shows used Sirtis for the computer voice. I thought she did a good job, surprised me.

It's another fan project he's involved in, but unlike Renegades it's actually watchable.

Star Trek Continues is very, very good. The first episode features the return of Apollo, played by original actor Michael Forest. I've already sent them money; I'd rather see this funded than more TNG era stuff. The era had its moments, but this is a really faithful back-to-the-roots adaptation that captures the heart and soul and the *feel* of Star Trek better than anything else I've ever seen.
