Re:It's not all on us...Well, the stories that were written (well, spoken, since most of these are verbal cultures) as things really happened got lost as that was too boring.
The story tellers had to "sex it up" to be certain that the story got through. And the sexed-up stories survived. So, we get thunderbirds
;-)It's rather cool that things haven't really changed that much over time. People flock to movies "based on a true story", but aren't willing to pay to see a documentary on the same story. (Unless the story's already "sexy".)

Rolls?!?
I hope they got permission; as was necessary for FAB1, which was (previously) the smallest rolls.

Re:Thunderbirds are go!
I thought exactly the same thing (obligatory reference. Looks very similar, maybe the next generation Walrus will frop the fan-blade propulsion in favour of have "Booster and take-off rockets, turbo jets, ramjet turbines"...
Question: does "Thunderbird 2" qualify as "prior art" with regards to patenting the Walrus? -
Re:Turkish movies
DO NOT MOCK the Star Wars Kid, he is a *fine* example of canadian actors... Just check out the Lorne Greene knock-off in The ThunderBirds . Now there is some fine canadian-knock-off-super-marionette acting... Lets' see turkey just try and handle that technology

Calling International Rescue!
Thunderbird 1 was always my favorite. Official Site

Might want to rethink
the name Thunderbird so people don't confuse it with this 70s show?

NOOO...
Where will I get my fix of...
THUNDERBIRDS
(and why won't my interrobang display?) -
Re:What about Thunderbird?Probably because they are well aware of Trademark law, and realize that they would lose the case since cars are in an entirely different market from webbrowsers and email clients?
...and a TV Show, and a bass guitar, and an MBA school (?!), a civilised (cough cough) 'fortified wine' ...not to mention a religious icon of the People Who Were Here First Before You Came, Took Away Our Land and Tried to Kill Our Culture .Probably a lot of prior art.

Thunderbird Project is moving along quite nicely
In fact, five prototypes have already been used for quite a while now.
-
Cars? Are you sure?
Maybe Firebird is named after the dead software company and Thunderbird is named after the Gerry Anderson SF TV series?
Oh well, at least there'll be a really obvious choice of icon for Thunderbird 1.0.

So...
I suppose Carlton International Media is going to sue them too, now?

Re:Wasn't this a kids show?
Yeah, my favorite (check my id). And he gives Thunderbirds a bad name.
"What are we going to do tonight, Bill?"
