Re:What are the choices?
They aren't saying they wrote the codec.
They are saying that their new program uses FFMpeg as the encoder, their software appears to be nothing more than a shell script.

They admit to it!
Check this page:

Zentu Flash Video Compression
The Flash Video files created by the Zentu encoder use the open source library FFMPEG which is a derivative of MPEG 4 . Use of the FFMPEG is governed by the LGPL who license can be viewed in full here. Our MPEG 4 Patent License is filed with MPEGLA.
Why FFMPEG?
We've found that FFMPEG is one of the most high quality MPEG 4 codecs in the world. The quality of the Flash Video that Zentu creates with FFMPEG is absolutely stellar!! Please visit our Flash Video Showcase to check out the amazing quality of our samples.
How do we use FFMPEG?
As described by the LGPL Zentu is a "work that uses the Library". Which means that Zentu for Flash has accessors that use the FFMPEG "library" but is not itself a derivative of that library. Furthermore the FFMPEG library was not modified in any way to work with Zentu nor is it compiled as part of the Zentu executable. -

UPDATE - THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS PROJECTS!
Apparently, Arben Kryeziu is really no deveoper of any kind.
As people already suspected, he stole the PearPC code for CherryOS, he most likely stole Java code for his VX streamer (see posts above). And now I have reason to suspect that he also did not develop the bumpnetworks.com website.
He posted an outsourcing bid for one of his web site developments (bumpnetworks.com?). Search on that page for the string "Hello Arben Kryeziu" and "Hello Bumpnetworks" to confirm this. Now scroll to the winner's bid (will say "AWARDED" on the left). His location Donetsk, UA (Ukraine -> Russia). Now, go to bumpnetworks.com and follow the menu: "Company -> Partnerships." You will discover Site-Mechanics to be a partner. Go there and visit their clientele references. You will notice that most of the clients and work done was in Russia(n). Could it be that that guy developed bumpnetworks.com (and many other)?
That leaves us with the original question: what did he really develop or did he "outsource and share code" (LOL) for everything. He seems to be good at talking the language of "the suits" and seems to be better at being a manager than doing the actual work.
Well here is the answer, which is also my GRAND FINALE!!!
if you visit his Elance Feedback profile and scroll all the way to the end you will notice TWO bids he put up:
#1 "Web Programming pdf to html conversion Beaux US$1,500.00"
AND...
#2 "Application Development PowerPC Emulator comsdev US$2,700.00"
If you visit both bids (bid 1 and bid 2 you will notice that he actually paid OTHER teams at Elance.com to do the dirty work for him.
I have very strong reason to suspect that he never wrote ANY part of any code of any kind! Instead, the people that actually STOLE the code from PearPC and PDF2HTML (read to verify) are the actual perpetrators!!!
How come nobody else established this connection?!

Digging Deeper: Jim Kartes
Now that the seemingly Pacific sized wave of traffic has rolled over Hawaii based cherryos.com, some more information can be gleamed from it's now visible pages. Their press release contact is stated as Jim Kartes.
Jim also happens to be the admin and tech contact for vx30.com. A quick Googling of his name brings up several links, including the website for MauiGiclee, a Maui based printing company which lists one Jim Kartes as it's president. How many Jim Kartes can their be in Hawaii? 411.com lists only 1. Finding info online is fun.
Further Googling and whois searches show that Jim has a hand in many things Maui.
Lets list a few of em:
http://www.mauionline.com/ (Paradise Television Network Inc)
http://www.vx30.com/ (Video Steaming Tech)
http://mauigiclee.com/ (Print Production)
http://cherryos.com/ (Emulation Software)
I'm sure the list goes on. Jim's a busy man, you see.Predictably, all these websites sport the same type of Java Applet video found on cherryos.com. Seems like VX30 (aka MXS Inc.) has been busy supplying Java based video steaming tech to a lot of Jim's other businesses.
At any rate, these businesses (excluding, by nature of this thread, the cherry in question) seem to have been operating for some time, the oldest site being registered in 1996. They also seem quite legitimate in their desire to provide services and products, bothering to list themselves with superpages, register 1-800 numbers, etc. These are not signs of scam artists looking to make a quick get-away, so that possibility can be put to rest.
The following options still remain:
1. CerryOs is a ripoff of PearPC (though the company has reportedly denied these accusations by phone)
2. The product is real and unique, though the performance promises are exagerated.
3. This is legit and we should all stop wasting time with such nonsense : )
I hope it's the latter.

Re: Arben Kryeziu - VX30 inventor
It's just a marketing stunt, there's no such thing as cherryos.
Look at the guy on the picture, looks familiar to anyone?

Yahoo runs the story too and...
MXS Releases Cherry OS PC to Mac Conversion Software.
Their article points to MXS, which is also down, but it has a cache in google. Nothing about Cherry OS in that cache. The wayback machine is down, so nothing to check there either. -

I've just downloaded its manual: http://www.vx30.com/documents/CherryOS.pdf and smells pretty like PearPC for me...
