    The projects are unrelated.

    If you'd like to migrate from WBEL:
    Migration from WBEL to Centos

    Also check out Whiteboxlinux.net you'll see that the site maintainer was growing frustrated with lack of updates to Whitebox, and switched over to Centos.

    The projects were started about the same time.

    There are also other competing projects Taolinux, Rocks, XOS, etc...

    the white box site is http://www.whiteboxlinux.org/ run by John Morris

    someone else wanted to be a co-developer and registered http://www.whiteboxlinux.net/ on their own initiative.

    That second person who invited themselves to the party was rebuffed by Morris, who did not want to share control, and has moved to CentOS He was NOT the "main developer".

    The original (one-person-run) whiteboxlinux show continues unchanged.

    Fedora brand Redhat has the legacy project for updates of older versions, and official Redhat you pay for has (RHEL) 12-18 month release cycle and 7 years support for each of the 3 versions. A clone to redhat proper is Whitebox linux.
