Re: Meet the new guy

I know, doesn't actually fit the leftwing narrative. Funny, how people who WANT to vote can find ways to vote, even illegally.
The Left's view that an entire certain class of people CANNOT figure out how to vote, and we must help them vote, is about as repugnantly racist as you can get. Basically, the left's view is "______ people are too stupid to be able to fill out the forms to get a free Voter ID"

What does MY money smell like?
most of it laundered drug money
... What do bitcoins smell like?I'm far more concerned, whether the smell of my honestly-earned money is any different from that of the laundered drug proceeds. I suspect, the smell is exactly the same and, should I ever choose to cross the border with substantial cash, these devices will point me out. A major loophole in American (and English) legal system, allows seizure of "suspect" assets even if the person himself can not be arrested.
Now, why would an honest citizen need to carry his cash with him?.. Oh, well...

Re:I'd call it...
You might be right. The city of Alameda tried it with traditional cable and failed miserably. It has a bond payment due soon and revenue won't even cover the interest.
Lowell, Michigan also tried and gave up in 2007 when it realized that the cost of upgrading the system to modern standards would far exceed the value.
Running a telecom service in an underserved area is more expensive and complex than many people think. Often, the area is underserved for a reason.
That said, maybe fiber will work. Or maybe it's worth it as a social value to the community, even if it's pricey. Fingers crossed for you. -
Re:Always listening to the democrats, eh?
Bad link! No soup for you!
See here. True, the weapons found were degraded and deemed not a threat, but why did Saddam lie about them and hide them in the 1st place? The gov'ts intelligence was bad regarding the threat, but on-spot regarding Iraq still posessing them.
As for the other comment regarding just hearing about this.
Uhm, the report was probably initially classified. Of course this wasn't made public until de-classified. -

Re:Why Nuclear will never work..
All elected officials (and bureaucrats) need to live in the immediate vicinity of a power plant. Nuclear, coal, wind, hydro, solar, etc.
I agree. Its not nuclear, but our utility is run by the city, and operates this plant and another right downtown. I imagine this arrangement, (politicians living near the plants) contributes to their support of projects like this and this
