    I think these videos show the same principle at work (at least as I understand them). It seems to be important that the formed bubbles are vacuums (i.e. formed by pulling joints apart rather than evaporating gas) because that's what allows them to collapse.

    Well, the thing is that Elon is pretty clear about his own mistakes. For example he made a film compilation of SpaceX crashes.

    So, it's not really that he can do wrong. It's that he owns his mistakes in front of everybody else, and still dares to innovate, and wins reasonably often although sometimes it's after great effort (as in the film above).

    He is also about the only big company CEO who will dare to post silly stuff. Like this. And the guy was five when Monty Python and the Holy Grail came out. So, it seems to me that he's going out of his way to convince people that he is a human rather than someone faultless.

    So, why shouldn't people like him?

    It's a stupid question. My family had a once a week maid when I was a kid.

    I never hired one though. I remember living in a nice but not luxurious apartment complex once. I had come home from work with a terrible hangover and was trying to sleep it off one day when I heard someone honking their horn. In fact they were honking their horn about once every second as they drove a van slowly around the apartment complex.

    I was livid. WTF is this shit!?! As it turned out, that was the call for the maids to come out of whatever units they were cleaning to catch their ride to either home or to their next job. That explanation didn't assuage my anger or my hangover but it made more sense than people in that apartment complex hiring maids.

    I could benefit from maid service or I could just get off my ass and clean my own place.

Why spend money on IT security when you can spend it on a worthless streetcar system nobody uses? Or perhaps an entertainment venue in the middle of a crime-ridden area nobody wanted to go to? Or how about a mini-golf "fun park" nobody wanted to visit in downtown Atlanta?

    When I watch it, the first moment I can see the pedestrian is the light shoes at the very end of 0:06 into the clip. In the one they released with the computer's response (my Google search is failing me for finding it) the computer slammed on brakes about a quarter second before that moment, when the pedestrian was just about to enter the lane.
