When Mac Freaks Congregate

abhikhurana writes "Wired.com has an interesting story about a recent get-together of Mac Freaks in Amsterdam. Apparently to pass the time, they amused themselves by tossing Windows PCs, making Mac porn and holding a look-alike competition to find the best Ellen Feiss look-alike, the teenage star of one of Apple's new 'Switch' commercials. I especially enjoyed Mac porn, but hey, if you are under 18, don't click the above link ;-)."

They could be installing Linux on those Windows PCs.

Not to mention that we shouldn't really be tossing PC's around for the sake of tossing PC's around just because they run windows until everyone has a computer. Lots of people can't afford even cheap 8 year old ebay systems. Assuming those systems being tossed worked.

You couldn't be more correct. If they want to show disrespect to Windows then buy Windows CDs(boxes et all) and then toss 'em around in the mud. The PC can run a wide range of operating systems like Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, BeOs etc etc. Showing disrespect to the PC for the OS it can run is showing disrespect to all the OSs. Be Warned Macfreaks, windoze users might not take offense to this, but linux(and other Non M$ OSs) users do.

Looking closely at this picture, it seems like the computers were old 386 era systems. They were probably broken all ready, not really worth the time to fix them. Then again, they probably all broke once Windows 3.11 was installed on them... ;-)

I've thought about bying a mac not too long ago wanting to give OS X a shot. From what I've _seen_ and _heard_ it's worth a try. But then why would I buy it for? The only reason I'm using a computer is to learn how software interacts with hardware(engr.) That's something I'll never be able to do on a mac(prop. hw&sw). PCs and linux remain the only choice I have.
