Matrix Revolutions Trailer Released
aerojad writes "The new Matrix Revolutions trailer is now available for download (direct link) on the official site. If you have plugin/bandwidth issues, there are also BitTorrent links available. For those wondering, there is more to it than you saw at the end of Reloaded." In related news, an anonymous reader points to the BBC News report that: "The makers of the Matrix films are considering only promoting the third film, Matrix Revolutions, for next year's Oscars. Warners, which produced the films, had considered pushing for both of them to be nominated as a single entry because they were shot on the same 240-day shoot, but the academy refused."
Man, Agent Smith looks absolutely crazy in this trailer. I still think he looks better with long hair. In case the BBC site is slow, here's a mirror to the 3rd link. I'm keeping my BitTorrent window open for as long as possible. It only took me two minutes to download, but that's because I beat the rush because I'm a Slashdot Subscriber. ;-) Please keep your BitTorrent windows open for as long as possible.

I saw Reloaded in the Lowes Imax here in NYC and it was incredible! If you have one near you I suggest you go and see it there. A few tips for getting tix and seats:
-Order tickets on line or at the box office 1 or 2 days before showing to ensure you get them.
-Get to the theater at least 1 hour before the movie starts to enshure you gett he good seats.
-Best seats are the upper middle. I try to find the seats where the screen is visible clearly but not to far up that I have to move my head to see whats going on. The right distance and you will really feel like you are in the movie.
Hope this helps...

Have a nice evening.
Karma: Chameleon (mostly due to the fact that you come and go).
I'm sitting on an OC-48 and Gig-E and i'm only getting 100K in spuradic bursts of packets.. I'm also loosing the connection before the file is finished... I have yet to get even half the file of the mid sized trailer. :(
This was actually discussed at TLFC. This trailer reveals very little. It's a lot of quick-cutting that gives very little away, as opposed to the really long Matrix Reloaded trailer that let you pretty much play connect the dots between scenes as you watched the final film. People complained that the Reloaded trailer contained almost all of the "money shots."
In this one, all you can definitely tell is that there's a final rainy battle with Smith. Otherwise, it's explosions, giant flying machines, and quickly edited shots of some sort of gun battle (finally, gun battles, the thing missing from Reloaded).

Xine v0.9.22 worked great for me.
Surprisingly, mplayer did not. I always thought mplayer was ahead of xine in the codec race, but apparently not.
I'm still very impressed with BitTorrent. Very ice design, kids.

Ok, I admit this is 100% flamebait post, but I have to vent a little bit. Sorry, here goes.
Ok, bittorrent is officially the most overrated piece of technology ever. I love how slashdot posts torrent links to things that wget is perfectly capable of getting from the official website, which probably has more bandwidth than God. Torrent is only good for pirating movies, despited what anyone says, a fast ftp mirror is always better for downloading a linux distro. You'd be out of your damn mind to use torrent for shit like this.
Right now, I'm sitting here, trying to see if this torrent will work at all. It's downloading at a nice rate of 5k/second, and my upload pipe is maxed out. Way to go, bittorrent. I hope nobody needs anything from my webserver.
Anyways, I'm done for the time being. Thankfully, the godly wget will be able to help me out once the crappy python bt client fails.

I think what he is trying to say is get seats around the projector - can't beat a projector's eye view.

You seriously need to get some help.
I've played soccer in the rain for years and never had problems with athletes foot. I doubt that the actors had any issues with the water since they could just go and dry off in a nice hotel room. It looks like the entire shot could be done in a sound stage pretty easily. I have heard them complain that they took a beating doing all the fights and wire work however.
The guys on the helms deep battle for TTT complained that they started getting sick after doing a couple months of night shoots in the simulated rain. That shot was too large to fit into a stage to make it pleasant to work on.
There shouldn't be a space(%20) after med.
I snooped around and found another mirror site as all my downloads from the main site were canceling out and bit torrent is taking for bloody ever!i ons_640 _dl.mov
Try this:

I managed to get it off there pretty quick. I pray that they have the bandwidth to stand up to a slashdotting.

Just use a download manager like Reget (www.reget.com), or any manager that automatically opens new/multiple sessions. If warner resets your connection, the manager will just open another one (or multiple sessions) to compensate. I just downloaded the trailer in 2 min., after failing several times with Opera.
is available here. It is about 11MB in size.
mpeg trailer
no. there is new footage. specifically...
15 and a half seconds into the quick time trailer, we see the guy who protected the oracle in the matrix reloaded fighting someone.
18 seconds in the quick time trailer, we see an extended scene with agent smith looking weird, and having a creepy smile.
immediatly after that scene, we see neo flying up.
55 seconds into it, we see trinity, morpheus, and the oracle's bodyguard shooting, and then we see the people they're shooting at
immediatly after that, we see trinity doing her token kick, and then an exploding ship, a bunch of people pointing guns at the chinese dude, and a bunch of other stuff that i don't want to enumerate. suffice to say, this trailer *is* different. well, i should also add that in the quick time trailer there is one extra agent smith in the long long of agent smiths, hehe :)
if you don't believe me, you can download the original here, open it up in Virtual Dub, and open the quick time trailer up in EO Video, or TMPGEnc, with a quicktime filter. you can additionally see the original trailer when it comes out on the DVD. it'll be at the end of the 10 minute credits, just like it was at the theatre.
and i am aware of one other trailer out... you can download it, here. i believe, although i'm not 100% sure, that this trailer was at the end of the game, enter the matrix.
I was getting a ton of disconnects with the URL that is on the Matrix website, so I searched for another way.
i just examined the URLs of other trailers and got lucky i guess.
By the way, this is officially the 3th Trailer:
anyway, there are already numerous attempts to figure out the storyline, most of which is fairly obvious/predictable... but who cares.

No, BitTorrent is working fine. We just don't like you.

The techno-ish music at the beginning sounds like Juno Reactor to me, and the drums at the end are certainly Juno Reactor. I'd guess that the chorus in the middle is Don Davis, who did the ochestral music for Reloaded.
I don't have any facts to back up my assertion, but I listen almost exclusively to Juno Reactor, and have a good idea of their sound. Furthermore, Juno Reactor and Don Davis did a good portion of the music to Reloaded, and both are definitely doing music for Revalations.
Although I admitted I'm not a 100% sure, I'm fairly sure, and on definite steady ground.
Being a devote fan of Juno Reactor, I encourage all readers to visit The Reactor Leak. The front page acknowledges they are doing music for Revalations with Don Davis again.

I'd appreciate any comment with a logical basis...it doesn't even have to agree with me.
This could possible be because the actress who played the Oracle, Gloria Foster passed away before Revolutions was filmed. Agent Smith in the Oracle's kitchen could be a "workaround" for not having the Oracle in the film at all.

"Nicely?" How is it "not nice" for you?
:P But no real problems on my end.
I'm running mplayer 0.91 and it sounds fine right out of the box. Using libfaad2 1.1.
Of course, I'm using OSS with a stereo speaker system with sound that only comes out of the right channel, so I may not be able to accurately judge whether or not something sounds nice.
I'm having more problems on the video end myself.. first time in a LONG time that I've gotten one of those "Your system is too SLOW to play this!!" messages.
No, the oracle was replaced. They used her replacement in Enter the Matrix and wrote off the new actress with some retarded one-line explanation. Hopefully that won't be part of the movie, but the game is supposedly Matrix canon, so that's probably the official story.

I guess Sangloth was right with his Juno Reactor guess about the electronic part of the teaser soundtrack, but Juno obviously didn't write the classical music part of it.
...) is the author of the classical bit, this is the track 20 ("Tarawa") of his soundtrack for the movie Snow Falling on Cedars. You can find this information on Soundtrack.Net as well as a french fan forum (thanks to ZeDuckMaster for this url). The song sounds just great, I have to get this album now ;-)

I thought he had been dead too... hold the line so the rest could escape.
And, they weren't entirely clear in the movies, but in the books it is made clear that his mortal shell was in fact killed. Gandalf is basically an angel, who came to Middle Earth along with the rest of the Wizards to help organize resistance against Sauron, a fallen angel. He was the only one to remain on the path, and one of only two(out of five) to stay on the side of good.
That was a production/directorial decision not to give Gandalf's return spoiler potential. Trying to keep it a secret would have been next to impossible: Ian McKellen's name is all over the posters and opening credits, he's involved in some pivotal scenes and an amazing actor, and any mention of his or the character's name (by a reviewer or by someone who'd seen it or read the book) would have spoiled it. They were smart to show him in the trailer, because the audience was excited about his return and waiting for it. Very nicely handled.
The Wachowskis had originally planned that sort of "narrative switch" but didn't want to do that to Gloria Foster. However, what happened happened, and while unfortunate, it did allow them to go through with their original plan of having the Merovingian delete the Oracle.
