Except you need a version with at least 8MB flash for dd-wrt to support ipv6. I just spent weeks trying to get ipv6 to work on my WRT54GL with 4MB flash, but none of the official (or unofficial) builds I could find supported ipv6. I finally just broke down this afternoon and picked up an Asus RT-N16 with 32MB flash and am uploading DD-WRT as we speak.
that's the SSH key. The article is talking about the SSL key used by the embedded web server, ie. when you go to https://192.168.1.1/ . TFA also specifically says this DOES affect DD-WRT.
Seriously! They finally got it right with the last UI update, and then they went and screwed it up again. Change for the sake of Change is not good. There must be a purpose!

The solution is to go your preferences, filter by author, and uncheck kdawson. Slashdot looks 1000x better this way.
Except you've linked to the wrong company. Strategic Vision, Inc. is a well respected 30-year old polling firm in California. Strategic Vision, LLC is the shady 5-year old GOP shill corp with questionable poll results and no real office (or polling results allegedly). Careful with those links, you don't want to slander the wrong company here. I think SV Inc. may have a trademark case on their hands if their feeling litigeous.
I believe the song was either "The end is the beginning is the end" or "The beginning is the end is the beginning" off of the Batman Forever soundtrack. Horrible, Horrible movie, but a pretty good soundtrack!
The connection to the TV was a composite (video + 2 RCA stereo jacks). This ONLY supports 480i in 4x3 aspect ratio. A separate (unavailable at local stores) connector is required for 480p in 16x9 aspect.
Nope. While it's true the composite cable can only do 480i, it does let you do 16x9 just fine.
The one disappointment was the Wifi. My wireless network is very much locked down. I slowly had to open it up and try connecting, but thus far have had no luck at connecting the Wii to the Internet.
I went through the same process. It turns out I had my access point set to g-only mode. I switched it to b+g mode and now it works great, WPA and all.
Theres no Intel version of the Family Pack, the included DVD is not Universal.
There's no Intel version of the single 10.4 box either. That's because every Intel Mac sold already comes with Tiger. Since the EULA says you can only run OS X on Apple branded hardware, they have no reason to sell x86 Tiger. All potential customers already have it.
I'm sure the retail 10.5 boxes and family packs will include an x86 or universal version.
I've got 2 250GB WD SATA drives RAID-1'd with an LSI MegaRAID SATA150-2 controller. It's an add-in controller, but I've got no idea how "intelligent" it is. I just had to rebuild the array (unplugged one drive for several days without knowing it) and it took 70 HOURS. From the BIOS interface for the card. Masochism indeed.
...does anyone know why prices do not include tax in the USA? The advertised price has to have both state and national tax added to it.
This is because the tax can vary from location to location. There is no national sales tax, just state and local (county, city) sales taxes. For example, the combined sales tax in my town is 7.45%, but the tax in the town next to mine is 7.8%. Large retailers like Walmart CAN'T advertise a post-tax price, because that post-tax price varies so much from location to location.
Do Americans get used to this?
Yes. Everything (but gasoline) is shown with the pre-tax price, so you just accept it. If you're trying to calculate the final price of stuff in your head for cash transactions it's fairly easy to estimate an additional 7-8% once you're used to it. I use my debit card for practically everything now so I don't even bother trying anymore.
I bought this fanless 7600GS a month ago, and it works great in my quiet pc. Combined with my passively cooled Rev E. Athlon64 3000+ it plays Q4 at 1600x1200 without dropping frames.
I would like the exact opposite solution, with the spam filter deleting anything that ISN'T in english. English is my primary and, outside of two years of high-school German, only language. Yet most of the spam messages I recieve are in some strange baltic language.
I'm as much of an Apple fanboy as the next guy (3 Macs at home, 2 ipods, 6 converts)
Thats one thing I've noticed all Mac users I know(including myself) keep track of...number of people coverted. I've only got 1 convert(wife), but she's already racked up 6, and they've converted a few more. All happy Mac users now.
Are there any Mac users out there who don't keep track of the number of people who have "switched" after playing around with his or her computer for a while?
"...it's not all that hard to slog through. However, it is indeed a slog..."
It's not meant to be read through like a piece of fiction. Design Pattern books are more of a quick reference guide than a gripping narrative. You don't give a good book at 4/10 just because you aren't reading it correctly! Personally, I found this book an excellent addition to the GoF book, targeted specifically at game designers.
Wow, I'd never seen that section before, but right now it appears to be the all AMD section. While this particular fluff peice on newegg doesn't fit the profile, most stuff from Andantech would:-)
How about waiting a couple hours and using someone else's submission of the same link? Every time I read the comments section of Beatles Beatles (or whomever the troll of the day is) story, invariably there are at least 3 or 4 posts by people who have submitted the same thing, gotten rejected, and whine about it in the comments. Surely if a link is interesting or informative, the link spammer isn't the only one to submit it in a 24 hour period?
Yeah, I tried out XP64 and Slamd64 (64-bit Slackware port) on my desktop for a few months recently, and I've since switched back to Win2k and regular Slackware. Some of the brokenness that forced me to switch back include:
Windows:
Services for Unix (SFU) has not been, and will not be, ported to XP64. I need NFS.
x86-64 programs are put in C:\Program Files, and 32bit programs are put in C:\Program Files (x86). Many old windows programs (including the steam installer) can't handle parenthesis in a path.
NVidia's windows x86-64 driver installer doesn't support my gf4 ti4600, although modifying the.inf file allows it to install and run fine.
Useful things like Daemon Tools don't work because of driver format changes.
Slamd64
/usr/lib and/usr/lib64 confuse some programs
some poorly written software (like mplayer) assume 32bit pointers and won't compile
Shell script game installers blow up very, very badly. So badly, in fact, that I've been unable to run any of my native games (Q3, UT, UT2k3, etc)
Overall, neither OS is ready for everyday use, but MS should be asshamed of themselves for charging people full price for beta(at best, probably alpha at this point)-quality software.
While technically you need an invite to sign up for gmail, this link, off the GMail homepage will send an invite to your mobile phone. I suppose your out of luck if you don't have a cell phone and don't know anyone who currently has a gmail account, but if you fall into both of those categories you need to get out more anyway.
May I also be the first to ask why is this story on Slashdot, and why is it a weeks late?

3 dupes already this shift. That's what happens when your Sunday "editor" doesn't read the site the rest of the week.

just dittoing in the official ditto thread for the achievement
Your signal strength degradation in MO has nothing to do with AT&T, and everything to do with your slashdot username!
The one used in the Watchmen trailer is "The Beginning is The End is The Beginning" from The Smashing Pumpkins on the Batman & Robin soundtrack.

Those look like easy enough suggestions, now how do I do that in postfix?

Damn straight. Even the St. Louis Police Department got in on Deer Slaying Day when one wondered into the remains of old Busch Stadium.
