Unofficial Babylon 5 Freeware Space Sim Released
Pluvius writes "The Prequel Campaign to the unofficial freeware Babylon 5 space sim I've Found Her has been released. According to the development team behind the game: 'We've been trying to finish this piece of art for the last 2 years... it's time to play and find out if it was worth the waiting.' You can find a download link (220MB) and an overview FAQ on its site as well, as well as a screenshot or two." This is an interesting unofficial development, following an ill-fated official project along the same lines.
SHIT ON ME! It's official - Slashdot has fucking confirmed: Trollkore is dying
Yet another cunting bombshell hit the community of Trollkore asswipes when Slashdot recently confirmed that Trollkore accounts for less than a fraction of one single puny fucking percent of all trolls. Coming hot on the heels of the latest Slashdot survey which plainly states that Trollkore has lost more fucking fp's to the GNAA, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. Trollkore is ingesting itself backwards, disappearing up its very own shitter, as fittingly exemplified by beeing fucking owned in this recent Slashdot story.
You don't need to be a cock-sucking Kreskin to predict Trollkore's future. The hand writing is on the wall: Trollkore faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any fucking future at all for Trollkore because that sorded, shit-filled, mutated testicle of a troll group is dying. Things are looking very bad for Trollkore. As many of us are already aware, Trollkore continues to lose first posts. Red ink splashes across the accounting documents like a series of exploding bloodfarts. Trollkore munches the most ass of them all, having lost 93% of its core trollers. The sudden and unpleasant departures of long time Trollkore cuntwipes Jordan Hubbard and Mike Smith only serve to underscore the point more clearly. There can no longer be any doubt: Trollkore is dying and its rotting corpse smells worse than a maggot, vomit, shit and piss cocktail.
Due to the troubles of those arseholes at Slashdot, abysmal trolls and so on, Trollkore showed themselves to be a bunch of retarded tossers, went out of business and were taken over by GNAA who troll another type of trolls. Now Trollkore is also a miserable failure, its corpse turned over to yet another charnel house... pathetic.
All major surveys show that Trollkore has steadily fucking declined in first posts. Trollkore is where it belongs, at death's door and its long term survival prospects are almost non-fucking-existant. If Trollkore is to survive at all it will be among moronic, dilettante shitheads. Trollkore continues to Chew Satan's Dick And Fuck The Baby Jesus Up The Pooper. Nothing short of a miracle could save it at this point in time. For all practical purposes, Trollkore is dead.

I decide to check out /. after finishing up a game of NCAA Football 2004, and this is the first thing I see, about two minutes after it's posted. Thanks, simoniker!
Anyway, this sounds like it's a pretty fun game (I've always liked games in the style of Wing Commander and X-Wing). It has low enough system requirements for me to play, but I'd rather wait until I build my new computer in a week or so before I do it. Hopefully I won't forget about it by then.

That's what I always thought the ultimate Babylon 5 mod would be based off of. Source code got released a while back and Freespace 2 is bloody amazing. All its weapons seem like they fit B5 perfectly.

Downloaded and ran this game... very impressive! Gameplay, graphics presentation and sound work are all proffesional quality and better than many of the computer games i've played lately. Also runs beautifully at 1024 on my geforce 2MX.. i bet that it would look like the show on something more modern. I am still working on the training mission, but if the campaign is long enough, i'd say this is a game i would have been more than willing to pay for! too bad it's too late for them to get the license now. but it is a good thing that JMS is aware of this project (according to the faq) and isn't foxing it. Makes me remember how much I liked B5 back when it was on TNT every day and spent a good summer or two watching the entire thing. Maybe I should go rent some of the DVDs?
Now if someone would do something like this for DS9 to make up for that awful Dominion Wars game, I'd be in geek heaven!
My joystick's in another city, so I won't be playing this for a while, but I did take a look at the graphics, which are great. He even wrote in motion blur which makes things amazing, but unfortunately it takes my framerate to about 5.

Great genre of games that hasn't done well these past several years. When I fired this B5 game up for a few minutes I could see the influences from Independence War (Newtonian motion!!!) and Freespace immediately.

Downloaded and ran this game... very impressive!
Which begs the question: why do the big publishers always screw up? I hope - I really hope - that this game will be a kind of milestone in the creation of an independent games scene. Yes, I know, there already is one. The problem with the existing one, at least in terms of its relationship with the larger game industry, is that no one really makes puzzle games anymore. Games like this, however, may very well bring "modding" into the next level and create a sort of farm team of talent for the bigger publishers and devs. Basically, maybe this could be someone's resume, ala Memento for Christopher Nolan or Bottle Rocket for Wes Anderson in film.

Near the end of the shooting training in the Cooke-system when requesting docking clearance the game exits with a 'Aaaaaaaaarrrgggh! Fatal exception in "CTarget::mfCheckTarget()"!' :(
Though I must say that the rest of the game is top notch.

Sort of useless website as I see it. Did it ever have more info? Can anyone here submit some working download links? Or maybe that is too risky come to think of it. Maybe better yet can someone from that project come here and tell us what is up with the web site?? Us late comers would love to download that file. Cheers.
