HMS Beagle (Possibly) Found
With the Beagle 2 lander lost on Mars, good Beagle-related news has been lacking, until now. British paper The Observer is reporting that the original HMS Beagle, the ship Darwin travelled on during his famous voyage, may have been found. Marine archeologists believe they have found the ship, which has been resting at the bottom of some Essex marshes for the last century.
That would tend to imply that God is an asshole, or at least has a really sick sense of humor...neither of which modern theology seems to ascribe to any higher being...
Another possibility is that God created the universe and USED evolution as his tool to create life as we know it...ever think of that?
A final possibility is that there is no God and most of humanity is thoroughly stuck up its collective ass...
As much as I tend to despise religion in general, the literalists are the worst of them...
God and Science are not incompatible.
On one hand there are those who explain the what we do not know with God doing something miraculous and on the other there are those who can only explain it by saying that it happened over billions of years, etc...
In reality, while God does do things outside of the ordinary (even when we don't notice), God still uses the object, processes, laws and concepts (time, gravity, etc...) which He created and controls to work out His plan. The key is to notice the not only the act but in the timing of what happened. Scientists will try to explain the star in the East as a comet or whatever, but they fail to understand that the timing of that otherwise "natural" event is designed to occur then, it was not just happenstance that Jesus was born then.
Getting a scientific explanation for what some assume to be a "miracle" in no way precludes God from being part of that. If anything it should reinforce the design behind it and that it is not just a random occurance.

Modern evolution deniers say that dinosour bones were placed in the ground by Satan to trick people like you and me into thinking that the world wasn't created 5000 years ago. For many many years, fossils of all kinds were identified as the remains of animals killed in the Biblical Flood.
Don't bother debating logic with religious fanatics. Their system is designed so that logic won't work against it. The church is not going to let something as trivial as reason get in the way of them collecting their 10% off the top.

OK. Step one: Differentiate between micro and macro evolution. One is experimentally verifiable. The other has a lot of problems.
Nearly every evolutionist I've met is just as blinded by dogmatism as any "fundie" Christian. This continued delusion that micro and macro evolution are one and the some is just one of the primary symptoms.
You can tell a great deal about the character of a man by observing those who hate him.
