Online Addiction Centers Open

wlarsong writes "Cnn.com is reporting that online addiction centers have opened in Beijing. Many of the people attending this clinic are in the age range of 12-24 years old and are mostly male. The symptoms of internet addiction mentioned in the article include sleep deprivation, depression, and nervous shaking of the hands. Internet addiction has been an increasing problem in the newly developed nation of China who now has nearly 100 million online users."

    Phew, I was worried after those first couple symptoms, but luckily my hands don't shake so I'm just fine.

      My hands dont shake constantly but the do shake sometimes... Enough that I get made fun of by my friends for it. Heh, I dont suffer from depression though. ....I hate this world.

      1) This is CNN, not Fox News.
      2) The other story was from the BBC, not Fox News.
      3)Let's ignore 1 and 2 -- maybe I'm missing something but two stories about skyrocketing Internet use in China seem related to me. I guess my mind isn't finely-grained as yours.

    Online addicts are permitted to browse only at special addiction center computers, that randomly flash pics of goatse and tubgirl every 5 mouse clicks or so.

    After a while, the addicted person simply loses their taste for the online experience.

    Well it seems that now that the internet has taken firm ground in the daily lifestyle of most people. It is just turning into another addiction like alcohol or drugs. I mean though, now a days people can understand alcohol and drug adictions, but, wow, try this out: "I have rehab tonight, sorry." "Alcohol or drugs?" "Internet addiction..." "............aaaaahhahahahahahahahhahahahah!!!!!"

    How many people want to bet these centers are treating political dissidents who spend too much time on the internet i.e. go past proxies, setup political web sites, distibute pro-democracy propaganda, Tianamen videos. I bet my hands will shake too after being in solitary for a while. Cultural Revolution version 2.0
