IBM to Buy ISS for $1.3 Billion

gerald626 writes "IBM announced today that they have formed an agreement to purchase ISS for 1.3 billion dollars." From the article: " The all-cash transaction of about $28 per share is meant to bolster IBM's ability to deliver security services to corporations, the company said. ISS builds network protection products and services, including intrusion detection and monitoring tools. IBM said it intends to use ISS's expertise and software to provide more robust security-related services to its corporate customers."

    They want to buy the International Space Station and then claim it's a wise business decision? What idiot in management thought that up? If there's anything that wise decision makers know, it's that remote sites are VERY COSTLY. I'll bet some suit wants to take his wife up to the ISS and recreate that scene from Moonraker, to live out a childhood fantasy or something. God, the business world is despicable.

    Geez you stupid mods! I knew i was going to get modded down for the above post but i expected at least a minimum level of competence to be exercised in the process. Commenting about the ISS confusion and asking for clarification on the blurb is most certainly not offtopic, it's redundant! I even spelled it out for you in the subject! Get it right! _This_ post is offtopic. Or flamebait, your choice. Just stick to one of those two and you can't get it wrong.
