From TFA: "The system also negated the need for a huge amount of animation – every performance was captured in all its blue-skinned, pointy-eared majesty as it happened, so it didn’t need to be created from scratch on a computer."
That magic little piece of technology is called motion capture. Most definatly NOT something that Mr Cameron invented.
Additionally, while he may have been able to see the cgi characters in realtime, they would need to be realtime models with realtime capable effects/textures/lighting. Its not going to be of the quality the final product has. That kinda crap still takes renderfarms butt-tons of time to render out.
His "invention" is only a tool to help him visuallize how the scene will look in the end.
Note: I'm only refering to the tool James Cameron "invented".. not Motus
"CGI Quality" = "Computer Generated Imagery Quality".
That makes no freaking sense.
Its like cable companies saying "Our signal is DIGITAL QUALITY!" I see plenty of poopy lookin JPEGS and they're "digita quality" as well.
Every game is CGI quality.. its all computer generated.
I'm gunna start saying my clothes are fabric-quality.
Freaking retards (Disclaimer: "Retards" is being used in satire and is in no way implying literal mental retardation)
I never want content I purchased to be sitting on a server somewhere in Antarctica. I want it physically stored within my house. People want the tangible thing after buying crap, in general. Though wait wait, the haze from my brainfart just cleared and it occurred to me that network delivery doesnt mean you cant save it to your DVR or some other thingy thing. That could do well.
For a company doing any moderate number of interviews, they cant be sinking in tons of time to make each interview as tailored as your resume.
Or maybe you should request a non "cookie-cutter" interview next time (be sure to use the same terminology).... that'll really help with your job search. Good Luck!
Current computers can hardly run Vista as it is... I dont think it'll be much of a concern when the next iteration of Windows comes out and requires a new set of hefty hardware requirements relative to the state of technology at the time.
What will the recommended RAM be by then... 8 or 10 Gigs?
Ya we did have free fresh milk, and cheaper beef. (The super cheap beef jerky was the best) That was the extent of our food benefit from living on a farm. Our only crop back then was grass for the cows.... thats not very tasty on my plate... though I used to think that eating grass was like drinking milk. Obviously, because cows eat grass and it turns into milk. Yay 6 year old logic. =)
We had small gardens, but thats no farm specific thing. Anybody with some dirt and a hose can do that... though we did have a nearly limitless supply of fertilizer.
Being raised on a farm is wonderful though, despite the lack of cable, trips to Disneyland, and regularly updated tech lovelies for great justice. I hope I can recreate that experience for my kids someday... someday in the future when I have kids. Hopefully far in the future.
He's strong but no longer abnormally so. It may be that myostatin's effects are most dramatic during fetal development
What's weird is with Belgian Blue and Piedmontese cattle(2 breeds with the genetic "defect") the calves are born no more muscular than other breeds. However, as they begin to mature the extra muscle then packs on. Apparently opposite from this human example.
The resolution would be crappy, but the Wii could handle the game easily enough. WoW looks so nice because the artists at Blizzard are amazing at taking proper advantage of the tech limitations they are given to work with.... technical limitations usually set in place to allow even those with lower end systems to play... Unlike EQ games where the art sucks even with hefty system requirements.
The Wii of course is nowhere near the raw poly pumping potential of the PS3's potent processing power, but it's still no pile of steaming cow crap.
Innovative. Not like when they released Warcraft 2 then 3 then a MMO based on Warcraft. It will be new, innovative just like the last time they got innovative.
There was a Warcraft 1 as well... ya know, just FYI. =) .. but anyway, each of those games were innovative(Actually I cant really comment on WC1 vs WC2. I dont know WC1 worth beans). They each take place in the same universe and follow a storyline, but still, the changes from one to the next were not trivial.
The happiest cows come from Whatcom County, Washington.
... actually, our cows never looked very happy now that I really think about it. I withdraw my statement.
Raspberries are happy here though. Our county alone accounts for over half of the USA supply.

Your comparing a standard definition CRT to a HD set of any other technology? What is the purose in that comparison? Its like saying my 75Mhz Mac is way crappier than your dual 3Ghz Xeon... Its not even a valid comparison.
Try comparing an HD CRT to an HD Plasma/LCD/Projector equivalent.
It's an interesting new method of cursor control, but I doubt it's all that accurate or useful for playing games(or anything else requiring much for clicking on specific targets). Since you're spinning the inards of the device around, and the button/s with it, that could make quickly clicking to fire your gun a problem. You'll need to 1: know if your on the top or bottom of the mouse to know which side the button is on(though this could be resolved by some sort of bumps on the inards to signify which side is which), and 2: moving your finger or thumb to the button would probably result in more movement of the cursor.
It looks like the dude controlling the mouse onscreen to click folders and other small targets is having a bit of hard time with accurate clicking.
But to be fair, its just the guts of a mouse in a hunk of fabric... not some device designed with two million dollars of R&D and a 20 man team. It is cool for what it is. Its a good concept piece or just a bit of fun. Perhaps it will lead to more functional devices based on the same methods of movement.
So with all that said, I do think its rather cool.
I've been happy with Sprint as well. When I first signed up via Amazon there was some confusion between Nextel(when I signed up It's Sprint now for the uninformed) and Amazon regarding who had the ball in their court to get my account up and running. After a little phone chatting between the two companies and talking with a very cheery rep at Nextel who was almost overly excited to talk to me about Holland because of my Dutch blood, I was able to get up and running. Customer service on both ends there were almost always very nice and far beyond the typical monotone heartless bastards that frequent support centers.
A few months later I had some calls on my bill that werent made by me. Having them removed was VERY easy when I made the call. I just told them what calls they were and when.. it took a minute for the rep to do whatever she had to do, and that was it. I havent had any issues since.
I've been happy with my coverage in Northwest Washington as well.
Thats not good. Now those lost emails are floating around aimlessly in cyber-spaces. Any computer hacker with a set of cyber-virtual-reality-gloves and visor who happens upon these emails in the cyber-spaces can just grab them for his own. This is going to be a big issue for identity theft.
Earthlink should form a cyber-sweep-team to travel through cyber-space to try and find all these emails. If they can find where they broke free from the earthlink cyber-pipe, hopefully they can find most of the lost emails... if they havent drifted too far yet. I guess that depends on the pressure in Earthlink's cyber-piping. If the pressure is high the exit velocity of the data would be high as well and as such, the emails would be flying through cyber-space at an incredible rate of speed towards cyber-infinity.
Every sentence of a review needs to provide information directly relating to the game?
I enjoy a little background information. It helps explain why things are they way they are.
I totally agree I have no objection if they dont slow me down, and dont distract me in any negative way from the game.
Supplimenting production costs with ad rev. is a good idea IMO. When it's abused though, the outcry will be loud, I'm sure.
I agree with what you say. The content of your parent post is a good example of the flawed thinking which is sadly so common today. People are responsible for their own actions. Its rather pathetic how so many people always feel the need to blame somebody else.
Everyone is a victim.. Damn the man for keeping us all down.

I've never used engine oil for ants... just Gasoline. It drains into the nest better and burns out quicker.
I'm very much looking forward to rolling the dice to see if I'm getting drunk

That ref doesnt really apply here.. There is no unknown magical step #2 like between the underpants and profit.

Try living off 25-30k a year with 3 kids, a house, and 2 cars. Thats the lifestyle of a small dairy farmer. 100k would be cake.
I wish I had mod points to give you. That was a splendid informative post.

Except his computer has a Mac GUI but also has a C: prompt(if I remember correctly). The experience though... that is pretty accurate.

They should give a better comp than just a few free weeks of play. Something like an ingame penguin pet... Ya, that'd be sweet!
