CDC Says 10,000 At Risk of Hantavirus In Yosemite Outbreak
An anonymous reader writes "Some 10,000 people who stayed in tent cabins at Yosemite National Park this summer may be at risk for the deadly rodent-borne hantavirus according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control."
But I don't use hantavirus on my PC.
News for hikers, stuff for mice.
so I don't have to worry about viruses.

The types of hantavirus that cause HPS in the United States cannot be transmitted from one person to another. For example, you cannot get the virus from touching or kissing a person who has HPS or from a health care worker who has treated someone with the disease. You also cannot get the virus from a blood transfusion in which the blood came from a person who became ill with HPS and survived.
It seems like this is about as isolated of an incident as it can be. It's not contagious, and that's key.

All I know about the hantavirus is that The Syndicate used it as a cover for the discovery of extraterrestrials in X-Files: Fight the Future!

Disease outbreaks catch the attention of biology nerds and zombie geeks. Outdooring issues might catch interest of survivalist types that are sometimes around insisting the sky is falling, or at least inspire more political banter about vaccine and other health issues.

Perhaps they can use the slogan: Remember, only you can prevent Hantavirus outbreaks!
