    Use Palemoon. Looks ike classic Firefox including the plugins but without the recent bloat and anti-user behaviour. And without Australis too.

    Install one? I even worked on one in the late 1990's: a filtering proxy that used a domain blacklist with advertisers domains on it. A Linux program that I converted into a Windows service. Of course, adblockers have become much more advanced now.

    Well, MS is trying really hard to get Linux a good alternative to Windows for several years now. Once they drop support for Windows 7 in 2020 I predict a rise in Linux desktops.

  6. Probably, someone at XDA should be able to turn this into a one-click root app. Until phones come with root access from the manufacturer I prefer an OS with holes above the closed systems Apple and Microsoft are selling.

    It is much more difficult and expensive to get a spare car, and driving a car requires a license. A spare bike on the other hand would be much cheaper than the lock (2nd hand oldies go here for about $50 - 100), and you don't need a license to drive one and bikes don't have license plates who tell the state who's their owner.

    Hmmm. I remember having an astrophysics teacher who gave each student the same problems for examination, year after year. When I presented my solutions neatly LaTeX formatted (that was not common then) he was quite unhappy because this would be a good starting point for others to copy the answers from. I did get a good grade but now he had to put much more work in exam questions.

    Starting in windows 8, Bitlocker "backups" your key in the MS cloud, so I certainly woyuld not trust this.

    If it's for home use, find some Pirate Bay copy of Windows 7 Ultimate.

    Knowing Google, they will usually abort failed projects. They tried really hard with Google+ but it has failed almost as bad as windows phone so it's about time to abandon it.
