I'm stating the obvious: red states are subsidized by blue states. It's not that blue states are paying so much, it's that red states aren't paying their fair share. Perhaps if the politicians in those states worked to make their states a place where people actually want to live, they'd draw more high income people.
No small part of that is the people in blue states have advanced economic agendas that hurt the trades of midwestern and southern states while promoting their own trades.

This requires them to also lower services to the people living in the state... we see a great example of that being Kansas, a place that third world countries look at with disgust. Then they lower regulations on those businesses,and you end up with things like drinking water being so fouled with pollution that people have to buy bottled water just to drink. Red states have proven to be nothing more than a race to the bottom on governing, and incubators for self serving conmen posing as politicians.
Why is it that those always whining about people taking responsibility are the ones that never do themselves. Any "low tax" state that leeches money off the fed (almost all of those seem to be red states) are NOT paying their fair share of taxes. Then, some ungrateful hypocrite like you comes along and says the people ALREADY paying more than their fair share should pay more, so you can continue to be a leech. You shouldn't have to wonder why people think conservatives have no integrity.

IMO, I think that salt deduction is unfair and crap. There is no reason why I should pay more federal taxes than another person just because they decided to live in a high tax sate and I wanted to live in a low tax state.
You get to live in your "low tax" states because those high tax states are donor states for your leeching. High tax states get back far less from the feds than the put in, while the "low tax" states leech far more money from the fed than they put in, that way they can have those "low tax" rates.
If you don't think so, then lets all push for a constitutional amendment that says no state can receive more than 1.05, nor less than.95, of what they put in back. Virtually every "low tax" state would have their state budgets decimated by that... which might teach them a little bit about responsibility.
