Not entirely. Downloading would be legal, under the private copy regulations. But with bittorrent you upload as well as download, and that's not legal.
For me, the entire format of weekly episodes is just wrong. Create the season and put it all on some view on demand service. If you want to watch all episodes in a day and then a year of nothing, that should be your choice. Maybe bring out the DVD after 2 months or so.
I understand HBO needs money from advertisers, but I see that as a failing business model.
Is there a time limit for enforcing your rights as a copyright holder? If the judge decides that APIs are copyrightable, then that means that they were always copyrightable (but we just discovered that fact). If so, can old API copyrights still be enforced when you have failed to do so for all these years?
Also, a copyright holder may choose not to enforce, or maybe explicitly putting the API in the public domain, maybe.
OTOH, I *knew* there was something wrong with Mono!;-)
But what if I *want* a crappy, unsecure, resource needy browser. I'd like that to be my choice to make. If IE really is better on WinRT then let the market speak. I know, I know, they're afraid WinRT will get bad rap because the batteries will be drained in 10 minutes, but then they should just focus their marketing on that. Put out advertisements with battery life comparisons between WinRT with FF and WinRT with IE.
At least give other browsers (and IMO all software) the chance to be crappy and ruin my device if I so choose.
It's the same as on the PC really. Even though I hear from many that FF sucks their memory and CPU, that isn't the case with me and I choose to run it. I'll pick another browser when the time comes, but at least *I* pick.
Flamebait? Really? It was a joke, come on! It even had an Office Space reference. I guess not a joke to everyone's taste, but certainly not meant as flamebait. Oh well..
Of course these taxes don't actually entitle you to copy stuff that you don't already own but hey, it wouldn't be corruption and lobbyism if it would benefit anybody but a few select assholes.
Not exactly. In the Netherlands you are allowed to create copies of works for private use (Thuiskopie(dutch for home copy)), even for works you don't own. This is being payed for by the taxes on empty media. These taxes make it very hard for copyright-lobbyists to make private copies illegal.
This is also why downloading content for private use is not illegal in The Netherlands, as long as you don't upload (so bittorrent is illegal for pirated works).
I hope they're not selling those mosaics, or she'll be in trouble! I stopped using them as a coaster, because I'm too afraid of MPAA raids (and I don't even live in the US!).
However we can learn skill to deal with thinking about things rationally.
But is that a useful thing to do? In most cases, probably yes. But sometimes it's better to run away from something 'scary' for the wrong reasons. It's not a 'mistake' evolution made, it's actually useful.
It's all well and good to praise this: "Life is easy and comfortable here". But... really? I would only live in a cave like this when my previous house was in a slump and this is slightly less miserable.
Cool, I'll set that up for them. She is really into drawing (mainly on paper), so she'll probably like inkscape. My son mainly likes to stamp hippos and onther animals with tuxpaint:). Thanks.
Well, "people just want the damn to work" might indeed be grammatically correct. "they", in "and they don't want to" is superfluous, but grammatically correct as well. I would stop the sentence at "and" and start a new sentence starting with "They don't want to". But that's just me. In any case, my sentence-parsing-stack nearly overflowed when reading that sentence. But it could just be me. I'm generally not a grammar Nazi, I just wanted to be snarky for once...
My kids started using Linux when they were 4 and 2 years old. Never had any trouble with it. They love GCompris, and they know how to find the sites with flash games for kids (I keep an eye on them when they start youtubing, but I let them explore). I just needed to setup passwordless accounts for them so they could just click their icon. They never even complained about the switch from Ubuntu with Unity to Debian with Gnome-shell. It wasn't even hard to set up, but requires some knowledge of course. As does windows. There's legions of people that make their money by 'fixing' your windows every month or so. And windows actually requires fixing (removing malware, etc., etc.).
Grandma doesn't know how to maintain any OS, Linux, OSX or Windows all the same.
But isn't having Windows 8 on your phone going to make it easier for the IT departments to accept it as a device to work on? I'm not saying it will be, but I can imagine our IT staff saying no to Android or iOS devices for work, but maybe accepting Windows 8.
Personally, I don't even have a smartphone, so I don't care. And I'll avoid Windows 8 on the desktop like the plague (but you know how it goes with plagues, it catches you eventually).
Now why did I almost misspell honorable as horable, twice?
That's whoreble!

Everybody knows: time to vacuum your car!
Of course, nobody means 'nobody' when saying "nobody". Everybody means 'very few' when saying "nobody". But I guess you probably knew ;)
Those checks aren't run because an exception is thrown before that.

The nazi's used to hand out stars to the jews, just for being so awesome!
Ah, sorry, it seems your earlier reply pretty much says what I replied as well.
I wonder if it can be made to detect where you touch as well. Maybe by using several electrodes and comparing phase shifts (or something like that).
Yes, your wife has quite the doorknobs...
Can't wait to use 'svn blame'...

I hope they didn't count me, since I play on UMaple with telnet! (Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Maplix is.)

Don't require readers to think when reading your sentences. For example, you might want to try using interpunction.
Well, buying more beer of course!
So, how unhealthy would the vaporized toner be? I really don't know. Somebody care to enlighten me?
