Not technically true... a lightsaber blade can be stopped by things made from cortosis ore.. phrik alloy as well. Also, a biological entity with sufficiently high enough density, like an amphistaff.
also, i find aayla secura incredibly hot and sexy.
lekku turn me on.
Hooray for Malaysia! Although, being Malaysian, I wonder how many big-shots filled their pockets with millions before potting money into this project.
Meh, it's Malaysia. I love my country and all (best food in the world. Trust me.) but the corruption is a problem... especially if there are major projects, you just know there are people making money off it...
The 'Boethin' Martyrs will die capturing the plans on the second Death Star, only to have their sacrifice used as political capital by Borsk Feylya?
Even after it has been revealed that the Empire *wanted* the 'Boethin' to retrieve the plans, hoping to destroy the rebellion?
And they're crashing a satellite into the 'Boethin' rock in space.. Bothawui? I thought anger over the Caamas document has subsided! Why are we attacking now?
Sigh, I need sleep. And a girlfriend.
Are you crazy?! Coop would just end up destroying all the geeks with Megas, while Jamie looks for green skin girls...
Boy do I hope there's another/.-er who got that reference.
Sigh.... The tagging beta isn't helping either. Some new kid might click on/., and before dude even has time to get excited, he sees "aprilfools" "someponything", eg...
Half-Life 2 episode 1? although I was paying more attention on alyx's butt than the game...
Waiting (very very) eagerly for HL2EP2.
And portal.
and TF2 looks awesome as well.
Now if only I could install the game w/o Steam.
I hate Steam.
I'm hungry.
Screw you, I'm literally a fat bearded geek...
And I'm single.
sigh...
Ah well, I have my toys around me...
Besides, being a rocket scientist is something to be happy about, at least for the "impressive" values:P
Forget about no pong, what happened to the Half-Life series?
Heck, Starcraft?
The list depends on opinion, if you ask me... To each his own, and all that.
I had to switch when I first came to the US to complete my degree (well, three months ago) - but I'm sorta used to it.
And being able to celebrate Pi-day is so cool, i bought a Pi-day T-Shirt!!
I'm gonna wear it proudly on Wednesday:)
He has a point. Before I started college, my main use for my pc (custom built) was to play games. In fact, i ditched my old win98 running on an AMD K6 basically because of Half-Life 2 (previously, I only used it for the basic stuff - word processing, surfing the net, playing starcraft occasionally, eg).
But even now that I'm in college, I use it for... more word processing, C programming, drawing stuff with CATIA, eg. But my time is also spent playing games.
Which is basically the reason my SuSe dual-boot is just something I do for fun, instead of thinking of it as a viable replacement for my XP.
What did this add to the conversation? Nothing.
I don't know... my firefox updated to version 2.0.0.2 (or whatever.. the latest one) and subsequently crashed. Something about it not being able to read the install file. I did a clean uninstall (which leads me to my next question. Why doesn't firefox have an "uninstall" link in the start menu?) and even deleted the application data, tried to download it again, same thing. So I just installed 1.5.0.10, and it's working as a charm.
Why is this happening?
My XP box at home runs on 512 megs. My laptop with Windows Media Center Edition (It came with MCE pre-installed) runs pretty fine with 1GB DDR2 ram, but some apps take time to load/run (but it's normally stuff like CATIA or MATLAB). Overall, it works fine.
Quite obviously, this post has nothing meaningful to add to the conversation.
meh, I'm not suprised too. I've been reading slashdot for a long time, even longer than when i chose to register (that's what, a year ago?) and left even fewer comments (normally because I was too lazy).
I've been seeing stuff like this happen for a long time. Slashdot used to be about *objective* discussion, now it joins the net world in slinging Ms for anything they do. "Great Evil Company" and all that. Anything MS = Evil.

yeah, but does it run Linux?!

But hey, with their new Nissan type Z machine going onhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_350z, we should reach our goal much faster...

You know, with his "switcheur" troll post and links to pics of fugly people... Heh heh heh :)
Aaaand this is when slashdotters prove they're all talk but no action :P

I frickin' agree. It's just lame now. Stupid, even. And this is insightful, not flamebait.

It's just pathetic.
Lemme guess. Troll?
