    I wonder how much of that spending went to training their employees that "password", "letmein" and lastly "123" are *NOT* the best passwords.

    Just happened today: The uber-friendly shopkeeper next door asked me to help him void a transaction. When the password prompt came up, he looked at me and simply said, "1-2-3-4-5."

    I couldn't resist. I looked back at him and said, "That's funny. I've got the same combination on my luggage..."

    Actually, a linux box in the hands of a clueless user can be just as dangerous if not more so than a windows box in the same hands.

    Depends on the distro...I've seen some live CDs that could cause trouble in the hands of a padawan...

    The real threat is ignorance here.

    I'm not so sure. I'm more likely likely to attribute illegal intrusions/Tphtphtph-ware to the weenies engaged in it. I'm not saying it's impossible to accidentally write fast-spreading worms, but I believe it's a wee bit rarer than the intentional sort.

    ...and how will the robots create a new solar panel if a panel is damaged?

    Think of them as an army of advanced Roombas.

    Are they able to repair themselves, and if so, where do they get spare parts?

    As far as the idea is concerned, I'd not mind if they can do it cleanly. The S-G power delivery methods I'd heard of so far have been microwave-based; anyone think there'd be any impact to global warming?

    All joking aside, I'm rather curious to see what her job description will be. If she's just another "analyst" with a 10-second sound bite, does this move count as a step down?

    Only an observer *outside* of time could ever see the change in the brane-space and only they would ever see the stuck versions of ourselves at the point of the signature change.

    IANAP, so pardon if these questions seem basic...

    Ok, in this theory, we're stuck. Nothing actually takes place after the "total stoppage" of time... H'wever, earlier you'd said that:

    Instead, we would experience time as normal as we are attached to it, and would have no clue that we can go no further.

    My questions being: Are our "experiences" post-time-halt actually real? Are they observable to anyone but ourselves {ourselves meaning within the EH}? Would everything actually remain the same in the universe post-stop? Is there a possibility of even a minute property change?

    Jus' curious...

    Don't get me wrong, you're preaching to the choir as far as enumerated rights... The problem is just that most of my countrymen are too willing to start at the Bogeyman instead of thinking out the problems at hand in a rational manner that'd be fair to everyone...

    No, thankfully, I got over THAT hurdle pretty early on in life. I've found many affluent people FAR more neurotic than their "lower-class" counterparts, and would rather find satisfaction in life without comparing mine to others. Let the rest of the schlubs keep up with the Joneses; my fiance and I are happy with each other and our direction in life.

    It'd be hard to be more satisfied than I am now...

    Might want to look into some of the digital PBXes... NEC has a nice series; as it's digital, you can use 1 run of cat5 for 4 RJ11 jacks...

    Strange, I've never worked as a tech although I've supported groups in IT operations and I've encountered contact problems with both RJ-45 and RJ-15 jacks so many times that I couldn't put a real number to them.

    Yup. Especially common in "road warrior" laptops that see a LOT of plugging/unplugging, food service venues that get that "food gunk" built up everywhere, and offices that allow drinks in the cube, or have bare wire stretched/scotch-taped to the floor...

    ...and do you mean RJ-11 or RJ-25?

    Agreed, but I never said that Macs didn't have games. I asked if the games in the review were also on the Mac, and for a general status on Mac gaming. That said, I decided to check for myself.

    No to Bioshock. Nothing on World in Conflict. Out of luck on Call of Juarez, no for Lost Planet. Company of Heroes? Nada.

    Any game that is worth it's salt comes out also for the Mac.

    ...by whose standards?

    A bit off topic maybe, but it will be interesting how Apple will compare to DX10 & Vista when OS 10.5 is out in a month or so.

    ...and how many of the games listed in the article review will run on Mac, natively? Jus' curious, as we'd want it to be a fair comparison...

    Heck, as I don't own one, I'm rather curious to see how many popular game titles are also available on Mac. Anyone?

    Pretty nebulous there, and I'll bet 10-to-1 that the system WILL be socially engineered based on this section...

    As for Randi, I first heard of him when Uri Gellar started performing in the 70's... Pretty sure that's where he got the most mention.

    True, and IMHO a lot of it will depend on how smoothly the geekery behind this next trick works... From the article:

    I'm curious to see the false positives/negatives this system generates, and why...
