    Won't work for everyone, doesn't for me.

    Plus it would invalidate my usual use of my mp3 player as something to switch to when something I REALLY detest makes a radio appearence.

    As you'd have seen if you read TFA. It's only been legal to sell them very recently, when they started CEing them ready for this change in the law.

    Until well into this year, you could only get them from foreign ebay sellers.

    Although in this case they're right. Even 2 years ago VHS was 1% of sales and 2.5% of rents in the UK. The major chains started dropped VHS players that long ago too.

    This is not premature, this is overdue.

    MS pushes a short hardware upgrade cycle, aiming to get its customers to make new hardware purchases every two years or so.

    Absolutely, that's why there's been a new version of Windows every year since 2001.

    Gaining slowly against a static competitor is good news but it's not great news.

    The critical way to read it is that a browser that hasn't been touched in 2 years still has an 80-odd% share. And that browser has a big, BIG update coming which includes the one feature in FF that most people consider the "killer app".

    That was a very reasonable proportion of the reason I used to rip and play my backups until I discovered AnyDVD.
