Due to the high cost of a Digital TV reciever that can recieve an over the air broadcast, I don't have one.

High cost? They can be had for $30 in the UK. Given the normal price differences, you're probably paying $20.

If that's high cost you really need to get off slashdot and find another way to earn a living.

I think the problem is that Microsoft doesn't make a console that many Japanese people want. They make this huge bulky thing, when Japanese like their tiny electronics for their tiny apartments.

Then the PS3 is REALLY going to bomb.

I see, and what would this missing stop button do; exactly the same thing as the pause button? The stop button is a hangover from VCRs where there was actually a mechanical difference between stopping (and moving the head away from the tape) and pausing, it has no place on a non-VCR device.

    Not true.

Pause - Pauses the sound and leaves the seek position where it is, pressing pause again continues from where you left off.

Stop - Ceases playback and returns to the start of the file.

The only way they're the same is if "play" always starts from the beginning even when you paused and that's certainly not intuitive.

Good point, of course George Bush will keep calling it a democracy, which is pretty silly as a president who lost the popular vote.

Also, not my country jack, the problems are worse here. Labour lost the popular vote in england by over a million (which is over 2%). However thanks to bizzare county divisions, they hold THREE TIMES as many english seats in the parliament. In all honesty I've never like the "felons can't vote" policy anyway.

At it's simplest, the ruling party has a mechanism to decide who can and can't vote. That's not good. Everyone should have 1 vote. If there are enough felons voting for the repeal of all laws (for example) that it passes than that's democracy.

Maybe the threat of that might actually make people who aren't felons get off their arse and vote.

Of course the obvious reply to me is "What about age restrictions too?" and you've got me there to be honest.
