  1. Re:Mothers on UK Police To Allow Gun Users To Renew Licenses With iPhone App · · Score: 1

I used a gun to defend myself two years ago. And in the mid-90s a guy grabbed my girlfriend by the throat, and I forced him to run away when I put my gun to the rear of his head.

Anyway..... I'm curious how these events would be different without a gun for self-defense. In both cases I suspect the end result would be two dead victims. Is that really want anti-gun people want.

    I cannot comprehend it .

If you was able to put an gun in the rear of his head you would also be able to stab him in the shoulder, or maybe in his leg(or hit him in the back of his head with an baseball bat etc). That way he would have been put in jail. Not being able to run away(unconscious?) or be easy to find and recognise. There isn't that many ["race"] males in around [age] with an stab wound in his right shoulder running around looking for an ER.

Costs like these(and taxes) are not paid multiple times, it's just devided.

If you want to have unlimited internet at home and in your cellphone you have to pay for it.
If both cost X$, giving you an total cost of 2X$ you still have to pay 2X$ for your "universal data plan"

    home plan + phone plan = 2X$
    universal data plan = 2X$

Or actually you would most likely have to pay more for the "universal data plan" or only be able to use one at a time.

If each side pushes further apart, the whole system will fall apart. Media companies need to make it quality, cheaper and DRM-free; pirates need to get over their righteousness and just buy the damn stuff when the companies do that.

The fun part is that "the whole system" = "media industries". One side need to do stuff to survive, the other side can do what the hell they want. There is a vast supply of movies(millions of hours) and a limited demand(a few hour a week).

Insane people can be serious. ;)

The fuel thing is completely normal for many motorcyclists. Some(many?) bikes don't have an fuel gauge and instead have a switch for the "reserve tank". If you had to flip that switch you know that you need do find a gasstation. A car can have a spare can of gas instead.

The speedometer thing is more difficult as it only work on cars you drive often or cars that sound "good", and there is a catch 22. You need a working speedometer to learn it, but you don't need to learn it if you have a working speedometer. An rpm gauge is of course cheating and would not work if you have an ipad on your steering wheel. You have to listen to the engine. ;)

  24. Re:Sigh... apple on iPad Steering Wheel Mount · · Score: 1

You don't really need to look at the speedometer if you have a car with a manual transmission. Listen to the engine and keep track of what gear you are using.

No need for a fuel gauge either. You should know how much gas you have put into the tank, how much you car uses and how long you have traveled.
