Perhaps it needs to be plugged in the very first time it's connected, but we've released the IP, deleted the winsock keys, and uninstalled/reinstalled TCP/IP on many machines and have had no problems turning on the firewall. Not sure what we're doing different.
BS, I work for the helpdesk at my university and we do this all the time. The machine does not have to be connected to view the network properties or turn on the firewall in XP, home or pro.
"I'd love to see spyware makers be forced to provide a small link at the bottom of *each advert window* that says something like, "This advertisement is being shown to you by $NAME_OF_PROGRAM. Click here for more information."
Most users immediately close any popups without looking at them. However, I would like to see this simply because I work at a university help desk. I have the Leadtek Winfast 2000XP, running on my Windows 2000 box. Works fine for me. I agree the blinking lights around the border are annoying, but those go away if you maximize the display.
Of course, my cable provider has a weak signal now, so if I want my cable internet, I can't split into my tuner, so I spent the $45 for nothing right now.
people are lazy. Very few will spend more than a few minutes securing a computer, it has to be done automatically or there must be a simple one-click & go program that does it for them
The windows XP firewall keeps out a lot of stuff, and it's very easy to set up. Maybe we should start small with that.
Either the Catholic religion is hard up for followers or they're getting a good head start on dominating the religion of AI for the future. Think of the possibilities. Flawless sermons, 24 hour priest support. Will we someday be choosing our computers based on who and how they worship... or don't worship?

Blood and Gore
Intense Violence
Strong Language
Strong Sexual Content
Use of Drugs
So you are saying that they couldn't program enough depth in the game
Maybe they came up with a novel idea to put depth into the story and not just stop there.
Before one of my kids stepped on my Vice City CD...
Did they step on your memory card, too?

"Labrie reported that the facility will also need to expand its render farm from 400 processors to 700."
All that power and it might, just might, look as good as my one brain imagined it.
