    I have no problem with public schooling, but there needs to be a check and balance to ensure that the kids are being taught the same or better than kids in a homeschool. Maybe there should be standardized testing, and recommended curriculum, for all schools including public schools.

    Otherwise what is to stop someone from brainwashing their kids under the guise of public schooling?

    You used small calories instead of kilocalories. That should be 2300 watt-hours. Or about 100 watts.

    The other issue you are going to run into is that teens are not allowed in the adult second life, and adults are not allowed into the teens second life. I understand why, but it is a pretty big barrier to doing educational stuff.

    Take a look a the 4th, 5th, and 6th articles in the bill of rights. They seem to have been pretty well gutted in the name of "National Security". The 8th is looking pretty shaky too.
