A lot of people here seem to think is that the game is going to be set only on Myst itself. The game is actually in the larger Myst universe. The D'ni(pronounced Dunny) are the race of people who invented the linking books found in the Myst games. There is a lot of very intresting backstory that is described in the, IMHO very well written, Myst novels. The game mentioned in the article is set in the great D'ni city, which is located under some desert on Earth. The city is in a huge cavern with a large glowing lake for light. So, don't just dismiss the game as stupid and boring, the way the folks at Cyan Worlds look like they have set up a really great experience for all who endevour to attend.

In the first few paragraphs it made it seem as though the the particular checksum is only changed daily. Someone could set up a server that is used in conjuntion with a Windows machine running AIM that would have a static page that had today's checksum. It wouldn't consume much bandwidth or CPU cycles, although a bit unelegant.
Have you look at the waveform patents. Almost every sound editing program I have seen uses this kind of interface. What's the deal? Soon they will sue all people who use this kind of program and then all you have left is their program. Why was this pattent granted?
If you ask me, the network ad people will just letter box a show and put ads in the blank space. Sort of like they do on some programs on the Discovery Channel.
The article said that there may be mulitple universes. What if the matter and energy sucked into a black hole, comes out in other universes at a 'white hole'?
I wonder what those lawyers are going to do about the opennap network? Who are they going to sue? With the commersial napster servers, they could just sue Napster, Inc., but as long as there is opennap servers, napster will live forever!!!
You don't really run any thing on the calculator except the terminal prog. It's like if you logged in remotely from another computer. BTW you can do the same thing with an TI-86 by using the program term86(avalible at ti-calc.org). You don't even have to use windoze to do the wireless ti, you can use getty, or something similar, on the com port with the wireless modem. You could tell your Linux box to play mp3s from your calc!!!
