  1. Google saying something is anticompetitive..... on DOJ Anti-trust Investigation of MPEG-LA · · Score: -1

Google saying something is anticompetitive is laughable. Types 'maps' into Google Search and what do you get? Google Maps. Ok, maybe they have the highest score using whatever Googles uses to rank pages. Now type in 'email' into Google Search. What do you get? gMail. Is gMail the top email provider? Not by a long shot. So if Google wants to talk about anti competitive practices, they have 90% of the search market and funnel people to their own services even if another service should be ranked higher.

While the hackers deny they are involved in this, there is simply not evidence one way or another. I would hope Slashdot would be more careful and write that the hackers *claim* that it was a publicity stunt.

The current generation have no idea what real work is and feel entitled to dick around on the internet 1/2 the day. The current generation feels entitled to use company property for personal use such as checking email. The current generation feels entitled to overtime if they have to stay past bankers hours to finish a project because they spent 1/2 their time dicking around. The current generation has no respect. The current generation thinks they can do everything better than management. Hell, go on Craigslist and try and find an unemployed IT person "desperate" for a job. Then offer them $15 per hour to do the work. Your offer will be turned down even if it means they sit on their ass. Its because they feel entitled to more money even if the market isn't willing to pay their previous wage. The you go to India. They are appreciative for their job. They appreciate the money you pay them. They work hard until the job is done.

Try educating yourself first. Let me provide a historical example of why people do not want FCC regulation over the Internet. The original goal of the FCC was to regulated frequencies so that radio/tv stations didn't overlap. This was a good thing. Soon the FCC started regulating content on those airwaves. Was that their original mission? Nope. Did that stop them? Nope. (And if you want to be technical, it was the "progressives" who imposed this censorship. Many of the problems in this country today are the result of "progressive" policies during the FDR administration. Then again, we can ignore history and bash republicans with baseless arguments.)

What are you talking about? The right is neither for or against "big corporations". The right is for the free market. The problems that ocure in the free market happen when the government picks winners/losers and that is done through progressive policies. If the government would allow the free market to work and didn't pervert the commerce clause under FDR none of this would be a problem. Anyways, I guess you agree that the FCC should be censoring content on radio/TV. After all, those regulations were started with good intentions in mind and how did that work out?
