I didn't. I wouldn't like to store a normalized version of a straight list with 10000 detail records in an XML structure. An SQLite database will do better.
Mod parent up!
Very insightful indeed. A gem in this forest of blahblah.
The Apache docs, though mostly sufficient for a decent httpd.conf, are not very helpful in discussion like this one.
All it can go by is the signal strength as far as I know. That's so stupid.
You are misinformed. The tower and your phone have to know the distance from eachother because your phone has to know when to start sending a packet to fill its designated timeslot and not end up in the timeslot of another user. It is all about timing, and there is a handshake between tower and handset based on roundtriptime. The path length can vary quite a bit due to reflections.
GSM technology is pretty interesting.
Not true. Organize --> Layout --> Navigation Pane
That will toggle the view of the entire navigation/folder and favorites pane that have been combined into one. and this can be set as default in the usual way via the Folder and Search Options window.
Ok, true, but then one misses the tree view. So, it is still not possible to just hide the favourites. Which annoys me enough to let me use UltraExplorer instead of MS Windows Expliorer.
In explorer, I can open the favorites in the left-hand pane by clicking the "favorites" button -- but there is no way to KEEP it permanently open. I have to click the favorites button every. single. time.
They changed that in Vista: now you can't get rid of the favourites pane at all, even if you want to.
Open and save dialogs highlight the entire filename in the text entry field, despite the fact that 99 times out of 100, I don't want to change the extension.
Open and save dialogs are at the mercy of the application, I guess, nothing changed there.
But in Vistas' Explorer, when you slow-double click or F2 to rename, the extension isn't hightlighted. Nice indeed.
Every single component shows how much it will heat up your place. Its this little number with the "W" at the end.
The Watts on the component is nominal load, you can ony use it to calculate start-up currents, and the rating of the fuses.
The typical load during use (even at full speed) is usually much lower.
Nice article, you should read it some time. It applies to US soldiers, not US citizens.
And it is not about 'regular' crime either: Criminal issues vary, but the typical provision in U.S. SOFAs is that U.S. courts will have jurisdiction over crimes committed either by a servicemember against another servicemember or by a servicemember as part of his or her military duty, but the host nation retains jurisdiction over other crimes.
And: ... However, most crimes by servicemembers against local civilians occur off duty, and in accordance with the local SOFA are considered subject to local jurisdiction.
I must admit that USA breaks its own rules, it exempts Japan.
Anyone know of a decent OSS replacement for Visio?
You may like yEd. Not OSS, but free (the last time i saw it). Not exactly the same as Visio, but very nice for some types of diagrams. It does a nice auto-reformatting/layout job, and is very flexible doing so.
yEd imports/exports from/to a few other formats, for example GML. GML is not very difficult to generate (for simple diagrams).

I 2nd this
A millionth is a micro, Greek letter micro, AKA mu, HTML entity µ One thousand meters is simply 1 km.
K is not a factor but a unit by itself: Kelvin, for temperature. Sigh.
The typical load during use (even at full speed) is usually much lower.
Please leave a box of tissues in the back seat!
Cool, but (with all due respect) I'm sure this money could be spent better. On malaria prevention for example.

WOW, that's great! They managed to find that exceptional, once in a lifetime, moment when it's midnight all over the world at the same time.
My PP (Peer Poster) is right. And redirections from within a media file are far from new. I wonder who patented this, he should be punished.
Do you think Russians would be willing to use imperial units?
Define "financial".
IMHO it's not fit for beancounting, bookkeeping and invoicing, but good enough for estimating the yearly budget.
