Sounds like a question from someone who doesn't backup. First, go make a copy of _all_ your important files. Yes, that means tracking down wherever Outlook decided to put your mail, filters settings, etc in whatever particular version you are using. Then make a folder with the install.exes of all the programs you use, and backup their config files (if their settings are not in the registry, in which case have fun trying to back it all up). Then go google backup windows and find out what else you need. Once you have all that info safely off your computer, proceed with whatever install option you'd like. You are backed up.
In public space, we engage in open acts where we have no expectation of privacy, as well as private acts that cannot take place within our homes and therefore require authenticating identity to carve a sphere of privacy. The private acts that I did in the sphere of privacy carved out by my '88 TurboCoupe did _not_ require federal authentication, thank you.
I just got my reply as well:
I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. According to the Customer Agreement, at the time of enrollment, you agree that we may disclose information to your accounts for the following reasons:
I. We have entered into agreements to have third parties provide certain services or receive your account information. Such Service Providers are required to adhere to Wachovia's standards of security and privacy protection. We will provide the Service Provider with information about your linked accounts, your Services transactions, and your electronic mail messages in order to carry out your instructions; I don't know exactly what 'instructions' they are talking about. Does it refer only to banking instruction, or is clicking a website link considered an instruction? In any case, this is coming with me to my branch as well.
My security might not be compromised _right_now_ but Akamai is not an accredited bank, and they do not have to stand up to the rigorous security standards that banks do. Their server could get compromised and deliver malware in one of those JS (or, less likely, CSS) files. Every heard of Cross Site Scripting? http://what-is-what.com/what_is/xss.html (disclaimer: my site)
If the photon has to get from point A to point B, then what is the advantage to quantum communications? Is it because the photon can be sent _before_ the data, which will then be sent by entanglement? Can someone explain it so my dumb mechanical engineering ass will understand it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to hear it. Thanks.
That's why I say "to gimp a photo" rather than say "to photoshop a photo". It spreads awareness, breaks the Adobe monopoly, and sounds more natural. Even Adobe discourages the use of "photoshop" as a verb.
Didn't some MIT idiot pushed her way past aitport security with LED-lightwork and an exposed circuit board less than a year ago? I'm too lazy to google it (I'm can't be bothered to fact check when posting to/.), but the incident stands out in memory.
The consistent noise you are referring to is called white noise. That's what the fan makes, which is why "the fan is loud" does not mean "the fan is distracting". There are those who deliberately turn on white noise devices as a sleep aid, in fact.
You are 100% right, the term is misoverused. While a hard drive can be "distracting, irritating, or damaging" (see What is Noise Pollution? full disclosure: that's my site) it does not "disturb any natural process or cause human harm".
Oh. Ouch. My mind just conjured a logo of Ballmer himself, leveraging himself out of the ice and dragging his builk across the ice with his front flippers in pursuit of penguins. And throwing one.
That is insightful, where are the modpoints when I need them... I will plagiarize this comment often. Thanks.
Regarding your sig, what is the true meaning of -1 Redundant?
I second VirtualBox. VMWare ran Solidworks like a dog, but Virtualbox runs it perfectly.

You mean discuss Vista SP1? Adults these days with their cancerous leenox toys.
It looks like somebody read TFA. Turn your card in at the door.

> Perhaps, if the rest your brain was sufficiently camouflaged.
That's funny, I am going to overuse that. And don't call me clearly.
Nice, thanks, too bad I don't have modpoints. I get the feeling that the page was written to catch certain keywords, for those folks googling around.

If they want my DNA, they can bend right over and I'll happily give it to them.

Great. You just gave Ballmer an idea for the next Windows logo.
They read /. all day.
You must be new here.
