A more apt comparison would be to somebody looking to move from Savannah, GA to Charlotte, NC or even Atlanta, GA. If the US gov't had the policies of the Chinese gov't, this hypothetical somebody would need to apply for permission to move and face the prospect of not being allowed to do so because of bureaucratic whim.
In actuality, rather than base one's freedom of movement on government permission, the US and many other countries utilize a somewhat less discriminatory set of criteria called "affordability."
I am not trying to engage the debate about use of the term "slave"; only the factual representation of the Chinese system.
But they were tied to the land. The Chinese aren't.
False. There is no freedom of movement. Who do you think the "illegals" referenced above in Shenzhen are? [Mostly] People from the countryside who did not get government authorization to move.
And you think this won't get caught in screening why? If the government is as serious about maintaining its current policy towards Wikileaks as it postures, then surely mail seen going to an address affiliated with Wikileaks would become "lost in the system."
I didn't go through all of the above, so somebody may have already said what I am about to, but besides being smart about diet:
Burpees. Bonus points for installing a pullup bar somewhere to add a pullup in the middle of the jump. Great for cardio, chest, abs, legs, triceps (and back if you add in the pullup).
Good luck.
No. Hong Kong has its own civil code that grants all those liberties we're supposed to have in Western countries. This code will remain in effect until 2047 when HK completely falls under the Beijing government. Or until the HK government decides to change it of its own accord.
Not that I know anything about Tonga other than its approximate location, but how exactly do you know about the head-bashing problem?
...you have two pieces. This must be one of the most obvious conclusions ever. A case where anecdotal evidence matches up with a scientific conclusion?! What is this world coming to?
So what now? You just give up on free markets altogether and turn _____? I'm honestly curious here, what's the ideal economic role for governments in your opinion if not laissez-faire?
