Because if they have to pay anything, they raise your rates. Then they add it into the statistics and raise the rates of everyone like you because yall are statisticaly more likely to cost them a bit of money.
My line of thinking is that since an alternator is a big spinning magnet surrounded buy coils of wire (maybe this is where I am wrong), when it is spinning at any given speed, it will be able to produce a certain amount of power directly related to that speed. If that is true, then ataching more electrical devices would not have any effect untill you tried to draw too much power. Then, all of the component in the car simply wouldn't receive enough power.
If all of this is true, I don't see why there would be a need for more mechanical load. The power would have been created any way as you are spinning it fast enough to make the power. You might have to spin it fater, or install a larger alternator to create enough power for the peltier, and I can see how that would take more mechanical energy.
I don't know much about cars or electronics, but I'm wondering if using more electricity makes it harder to turn the alternator (assuming you don't have to install a larger one to power the peltier). If not, then wouldn't the extra energy you are using for the peltier have symply been released as heat any way?
Looks like a publisity stunt to me. They are making a show of protecting the reliece date, while at the same time demonstrating how genorous they are. They look nice and fair and get their names and the date plastered all over the media and web for little to no money.
My brother recently got a motherboard with onboard fiber out for sound. It pipes the AC3 from DVDs directly to his tunner. Something the Soundblaster refused to do. In this case, the built in is better.
Not just one button, but a humidity sensor to deturmine the proper amount of time as well. It is also used for the re-heat button that will get anything with a decent amount of water in it to the perfect eating temprature.
If pattents were limited to how to do something rather than simply an idea that something could be done, then licensing would not be nearly as big of a problem. If someone didn't want to pay you, they could still figure out a better way and get a patent on that even if both are acheiving the same goal.
If I had a the money, easily $1000 due to the projector, I would certainly buy one. I think it's a cool idea, maybe someone should make something like this on a smaller scale. Ditch the DLP and use wired controllers instead of bluetooth. Could probobly be done for a decent price and I would want one. Seriously.
If it didn't cost much, it must not have taken much effort. The point of patents it to give you a monopoly for a while so you can make up the investmen. If there was no investment, why do you need a pattent?
Yes, that can be a problem, especialy with epson as you can't replace the head. However, HP is infact building in an expiration date. I have been told by my rep that it is 2 months after the date on the package. I also saw some printheads in one of our displays expire after about a year. As a display it got little use, so the page count was not the problem. It did however receive regular use, 10 or so a week, so the ink wasn't dry. It had no problem printing the page telling me it would not print untill the heads were replaced.
I work at an office supply store. I have been told by my HP rep that the carts will stop working 2 months after the date printed on the cart. That date tends to be about a year after manufacture. The question came up when a customer that had stocked up on carts came to me complaining about how he had a stack of them that wouldn't print. I was also told that HP has a replacement program where they will replace unopend carts that are expired.
I have seen a number of sites that change the contents of one dropdown based on your selection in another. I suppose each change could reload the page like.net, but that is anoying.
Never was a fan of WinRAR, but UltimateZip is pretty nice.
somebody always has to be a smart ass...
turban = turbine
sorry
I want a full electic, not a hybrid. It can get the power to charge its batteries from a small bio-desiel turban generator.

Just a guess, but it sounds good.
And you don't think the rocket scientists couldn't figure out a way to throw something at them that would cause severe damage?

Fancy elevators in fancy buildings cancel the floor when you push the button a second time.
And me with no mod points, this needs to go up.
+1 insightfull

And here is NASA's Bittorent link for it.

You could license it to other firms.

Unfortunately, anyone who uses their right to bare arms and defend themselves against a system they feel is unjust gets put in jail.

Ask Epson and Canon, they have been doing it for years.

Not to mention many of the printers will _print_ a page telling you that the carts are expired and must be replaced before doing any more printing.

You Sir are evil
Congragulations Mictosoft, you are patenting "not equal". I have yet to see a language with out it.
&foo!=
but id it works for compairing the address, why wouldn't it also work for compairing the values.
foo!=footoo;

No, those are just the cheap cases.
