From what it looks like, McCain is using Palin as VP to convince radical people "oh yeah we believe you! right on brother!" when in reality he doesn't really care. I don't think any VP other than Dick Cheney was really assertive over their respective presidents.
When McCain dies, or his brain finishes dying, or his heart locks up while he's jerking off to HOSTEL PART 2, then we got big problems with this Burger King shift manager of a VP. George Bush with tits. We couldn't even get rid of the George Bush that doesn't have tits. I don't want to have to deal with getting rid of one that does.
I'm about as conservative as it gets, but the idea of either party hijacking an election infuriates me.
Even if nothing else, if I didn't love democracy and care for the process, I'd still like to know that my guy won by an honest vote. I'd rather lose than win it traitorously.
So you're the principled conservative! Wow, lonely gig.
Mod parent funny. 8-track tapes were a mountain of shit. No rewind. Terribly narrow tracks combined with slow tape speeds resulted in asstacular sound quality. The bits of foam glued to the plastic cartridges that pressed the tape against the heads would lose their springiness over time or simply come unglued. Head alignment in players was a major problem. Four "programs" per tape resulted in long songs getting split into pieces. The metallic splice in the loop that triggers the program switch would come unglued, resulting in a loop that was no longer a loop, merely a bunch of tape being pulled out of a cartridge, into a tape deck, and not being returned to the cartridge - an eaten tape, in other words. No rewinding, it's worth mentioning it twice because it was so damn irritating. They get credit for being cool looking. Nothing more, and nothing related to its performance as an audio format.
I remember THE PUNISHER with Dolph Lundgren getting licensed by the rapidly-going-out-of-business New World Pictures when Marvel was handing out film rights to its properties in exchange for pocket change. This is also where we got the Menachem Golan-produced CAPTAIN AMERICA movie and almost ended up with first Albert Pyun and then James Cameron making SPIDER-MAN for Cannon Films. Marvel spent a good chunk of the 1990s getting the film rights to its characters untangled.
What I'm saying is that the 1989 PUNISHER was licensed, and wasn't pulled by Marvel lawyers or any such nonsense. This fairly low-budget, independent film got rated X for violence and had to be cut before it got an R. It was one of the last films from a dying company that couldn't get its shit together, and its heavily promoted, rather troubled release was delayed, delayed, and finally canceled in favor of direct-to-video in all but a handful of markets.
Yep. Congratulations to the MPAA for giving us copy protection good enough to make using the Blu-ray discs legitimately a pain in the ass, but shit enough that the discs can be ripped easily and posted on the internet with no problems. Discs that I would have happily bought are useless to me and will sit on the shelf unsold, because you don't want people to copy them. But people can copy them anyway, despite your best efforts. So you've spent a tremendous amount of money and time in order to chase away paying customers, sell fewer discs, and increase piracy.
Any Democratic Congressman that steps to a Republican Congressman and punches him dead in the face repeatedly, until he's pulled off by Congressional Police, will get a check for $100 from me. The time for civility is long, long past.
Just about the only thing that'd make most of the people consider something being amiss would be an emigration wave of people who are vocal about why they leave and who'd gladly choose a lower standard of living (if only temporary) over being subject to DHS and the like.
A wave they'd never even hear about because the whorish corporate news media would play their role and not report it. Or better yet, they'd report it in a way to make it look like something that it was not.
You speak as though police felt some sort of need to obey the law or respect your rights. I find this highly amusing. Cops are just another gang of thugs.
VP isn't the one making laws, though.

Or, you could just say "Bring it on!" That worked wonders for us in Iraq.

THANK YOU so very, very much for that. Leave it to the answer to the Ultimate Question.
Keep this "idle" bullshit out of the regular RSS feed - the one that's for real stories. Not that I'll ever see the crap again.

I hope to hell that the FTC comes down *hard* on these people.
Blacks and Indians?
I don't want this idle.slashdot.org crap in the regular RSS feed as if it was an actual story.
Selective editing. We're dumb, but we aren't that dumb. Yet.
Would you dare to ship "Windows Vista" on a no name CDR and sell it on street next to police station?
Absolutely. Cops are always looking to save a couple of bucks.
Boston is merely afraid that this information will end up in Lunar hands. Entirely reasonable given that city's sad recent history.

Hell of a business model, that.
I checked and yep, there's tons of copies of this email in my spam folder. The alleged CNN headlines, differing from mail to mail, are awesome.

Can somebody give me a good reason why I should not continue my personal boycott against travel to the US?
Because at Crazy Bushies, the prices are INSAAAAAANNEEEEE!
By which I mean we're Canada's Mexico now.

Or, you know, they could just blow up an airport security checkpoint and kill a bunch of people that way. TSA has made it super easy for the bad guys.
The NSA is subject to the same laws of physics as the rest of us the last time I checked.
That's not what Jesus told me.
Bush, now this - Yale's the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it...
I use nspluginwrapper on 32-bit Ubuntu. Works like a champ.

Three zeros, a decimal point after the first. And no other digits.
