As long as it can handle high heat, repeated drops to hard surfaces and into water, occasionally containing corrosive chemicals. And as long as they can be charged from 12 volts DC, and aren't heavier than a hand held radio. It needs to have a large button on it too, gloves and all that.
Preferably a blue or red LED as well, so it'll cut through the smoke.
Law enforcement would have to deal with practically the same situation.
I'm posting this from a Latitude D420 laptop. It's got a 12.1 inch screen running at 1200x800. It's got a dual core processor, a gig of RAM, an 80GB HDD, and a/b/g wifi built in, and it's capable of taking an a/b/g/n card. It's also got integrated bluetooth, IRDa, and a slot for a WWAN card, with antennas. The processor only runs at 780MHz, but it does my photo editing at better speeds than my old 2.8GHz single core celeron laptop did. It weighs 2.5lbs, and I don't often think about the added weight in my gear bag. It also has a smartcard reader and a TPM chip. The security is incredible on this machine. I love this laptop.
I paid $400 for it secondhand. My only complaints about this machine are the memory, hard drive and lack of integral optical drive. 512MB of the RAM is soldered onto the mainboard, so if my memory takes a dump, it means a new motherboard. The hard drive is a 1.8" drive, and they're difficult to find at my favorite parts places.
I regularly play Diablo 2 on this computer, and it runs it perfectly. I get online with my cell phone tethered by bluetooth, and when I find a decent deal on a WWAN card, I'm installing one inside the machine. Sure, 12.1 inches on the screen is kinda small, but the keyboard is practically the size of a standard laptop keyboard, and I can type just fine on this computer. It does run a little hot, but that's alright. I get ~2 hours of battery life out of the machine. It also has a nice strike zone around the hard drive to protect it, and I've dropped it more than once. This machine is tough for being a Dell.
Sweet idea. I've already had a set made. It was insanely expensive; I purchased the material myself, and finding a jeweler that was willing to work with the metal was difficult. In the end though, the rings turned out spectacularly. They're nearly indestructible, and look absolutely amazing. If you have the funds, I would recommend a set.

I don't think the three R's are taught in American schools anymore. Well, considering that only _one_ of the three R's ACTUALLY BEGINS WITH R, I think that's a good thing.
Nevermind. I know this is Slashdot, and most people don't actually RTFA, and I posted my previous comment before doing so. Ahh well, chalk it up to lack of caffeine and/or nicotine in my bloodstream.
So what if a shill ^H^H^H^H^H paid student takes notes and gives them to the publisher. Unless you're distributing the notes YOU took, how the hell are they going to know that you wrote down similar information from the same class?
2/ He distributes binaries that contains IP that don't belong to him (I could download his drivers, and I have no creative hardware)
You can download the unadulterated drivers from a mirror site and still not have any Creative hardware. Following your logic, the mirror (think DriverAgent - et al) is culpable for the same thing!
Mel Brooks will be proud of the appropriate paraphrasing, and Paramount will sue you for copyright infringement, with a fine of no less than $9,250 per character.
I wasn't saying that it was stupid to require the HSC, what I was getting at is it's overly simplistic to me. Like any other gov't mandated test, it's aimed at the lowest common denominator.
Oh, and for what it's worth, I only have one car accident on my record, and it's not my fault.;)
Actually, in CA it's 10 days, plus fees and paperwork. It's a pain to me really only if I was too lazy to go soon enough to get my shotgun or rifle for a competition. You also have to complete an exam for a "Handgun Safety Certificate", which pretty much amounts to "Don't ever point it at yourself or others, and show me how to safely load the weapon with this completely inert dummy round which would hurt if I threw it at you."
Actually, I never said it was a reasonable position. In fact, at the end of my post I said it's like a psychotic episode put into words. It's just my particular belief. I'm not trying to convert anyone, I'm simply trying to show that not all "Christians" are "Creationists". I suppose if you had to label me, I'd carry the label Christian. But you're right, it's my personal belief, so how can something so ethereal as religious beliefs be wrong? They're yours and yours alone. I'm not trying to argue with you. I also don't believe in pushing my opinions or religious views on anyone else.
As a side note, I seem to be a favorite of anonymous posters. LOL.

Is that the Registered Internists Association of America?
Yes, but it's usually accompanied, and drowned out by a screaming engineer.

I thought from the moment I saw the movie that he could be used for more than just making cubes of trash!
Transport must be a bitch...

The other two points, I can't rightly argue with.
Maybe the server runs on Windows? *ducks*
*starts as minor giggling and rolls into full blown laughter*

It's not meant to bring ABOUT doomsday, but to provide for after the event.
You know, I think you're right. Isn't R v W in like it's 50th trimester?

You read "Splinter Cell" novels too?

I wholeheartedly agree with you, especially if it's a fairly obscure BSOD code and they're 2 of 10 results.
Maybe their inlaws live in Florida...
I thought it was the other way around.... :/
I think this is _justified_ AC posting. Heh.
