i've got Office X installed on my mac and it's been out for months. Entourage is probably one of the best email clients ever, kicking Outlook's ass down the street.
I think the real point of the "Hellmouth" aritcles was that the Columbine aftermath provided a look into lives of many "weird" kids (geeks, freaks, punks, goths whatever) and the shabby way they're treated by teachers and their fellow students.
While trying to claim that Eric Harris and Dylan Klehbold were "geeks" or whatever is tenous at best, there is no arguing that a lot of the geek/freaks did not feel a great deal of negative fallout from the incident.
Not too sure about new robotech, but there's been like 3 sequels to Macross: Macross II, Macross Plus and Macross 7. Macross II and Macross Plus have both been released in America, 7 can probably be easily found as fansubs.
Macross Plus is the only one worth watching though.
They should just give up on having Mulder or a similar character on the show. They also should change the title of the show to "The Scully Show". Since that's why most slashdot readers watch it.
heh, when I first read this post, I thought that cracker of the edible variety (read: saltine) had endangered the astronauts by jamming an electronic gizmo.
I thought, well they won't be eating crackers in space anymore now.
Everyone remembers the David Lynch Dune film, but has anyone heard of the Dune movie that was never made.
It was the idea of Alejandro Jodorowsky, director of El Topo and Santa Sangre, to adapt Dune to the screen. His ideas for adapting Frank Herbert's novel were interesting enough, but his list of collaborators were INCREDIBLE: H.R. Giger, Moebius, Pink Floyd and Salvadore Dali.
But unfortunately, this was pre-Star Wars and no one wanted to finance a sci-fi movie like Dune. It died a pathetic death, save only for some preproduction art.
I'm voting for 'battle-language' from Dune, which was the normal language, but wih the syllables shortened, allowing rapid communications during combat.
think about all he bandwidth this would help save.
Actually, you can always set up a firewall which would keep the napster users away, or move the files out of your shared directory as soon as they're done downloading or just set outgoing connections to "0" so no one can download from you.
Napster does support the last option, it even gives a "are you sure you want to do this" message saying that if that option is set, no one can download from you.
The story which I think you're talking about was the disapearance of Dallas James Egbert III. It was recounted in a fairly informative book "The Dungeon Master", by William Dear, the private investigator that was hired to find him.
Despite the bad rap that Dear recieved from D&D fans, he actually, as I recall, proved that D&D was not a factor in Dallas' disapearance.
Supposedly the kid's disapearance had to do mainly with isolation from his peers, a lack of love from his family and drug use.
At the time it was released, the Amiga's capabilities were stunning. A huge color pallete, video titling (editing and f/x with a Toaster card) and a relatively stable OS.
But time has moved on, pretty much every computer out there now supports millions of colors, the type of video f/x that the Amiga was worshipped for has been passed by the combination of DV, Firewire and large capacity drives and with OSs like Be OS and Mac OS X, stability is no longer an issue.
The question I raise, is do we need the Amiga? Do we need another OS? I say nay, if anything we need to throw more attention to OSes like Be, which could be one of the greatest operating systems, if it was developed better.
well, that's my 2 centavos for today.

The Muppets are in re-runs

Muppets Sold

The old Muppets show, The Jim Henson Hour (I think that's what it's called) and the newer Muppets Tonight! is on the cable channel "Oddysey", check your local listings for it.
It used to be a religious channel, but got bought out by Hallmark and Henson productions and now shows uplifting movies, Muppets, Alf re-runs and other family friendly fare.

what type of illegal drugs are you on?

yeah, that's real useful, for someone in NEW JERSEY
FWIW, On the Ep I DVD Making of Documentary, OS 9 was visible durinag a photoshopping session,
actually that was probably Commotion.
except berke breathed has talent and is original, two things that illiad lacks most.
Well it'd be number one on my top 10 list of books of the millenium about hobbits .

On my home setup, my web server is currently a 300mhz Celeron/128 MB RAM/6 GB HDD running WIndows 2000 Pro and IIS.
And IIS cab barely handle the 30 hits a day I get! I can't imagine it being used in a commercial situation. I've had nothing but problems with it.
although it's neutral, the second site that google found had downloadable metallica mp3s.
Yeah, except that they're both derivative of the NeXT cube. And since Apple owns NeXT, you do the math of what will happen in a potential lawsuit.

I also believe the fact that the PSX1 will soon be obsoleted by the PSX2 had something to do with the decision
now, if they'd come up with a psx2 emulator (which would be nigh-impossible now, but give them a few years), it would be a different story.
yeah, it's secure like Playstation games, man no one pirates those. Impossible.
DVDs, man, if all the computers in the world tried to break that encryption, it'd take a long time...
Macrovision Encoded VHS, man that just shut us pirates down overnight!
Music, man no one will ever think of a way to trade cd tracks over the internet, since cd audio's way too big!
"Can you imagine a film with an offensive scene being instantly edited and redistributed for the next day's showings?"
Good God no, that's a terrible idea. Now, instant Director's Cuts would be a good one.
American Furniture Warehouse was advertising an "Internet Computer Desk" recently. I guess it had a hole in the back for cat5/phonecable or something.

Actually, the Library of Congress doesn't allow you to check out and take a book home. You have to read it while inside the library.

I think we're up to the one with the American playing the Doctor really badly, which as I recall, only lasted for one movie, on Fox.
