    For about 1.5 years it was impossible to access http://www.xbox.com with Opera - it entered an infinite loop.

    1.5 years.

    It was fixed quite recently - server side. It wasn't a problem in Opera.

    I believe this will create a lot of resentment towards Symbian in the long run. The testing basically only gives you a guarantee that it will not run up your phonebill and or delete your range of oh-so cool ringtones/ sounds/ wallpapers/ whatevers. ... and that's exactly what it SHOULD do, and nothing else. Don't you understand what this certification is for?

    It's the CELL OPERATORS that demand it - they don't want EVIL software running rampant in their networks. They're scared shitless as it is today with anyone being able to write applications that can access (quite) low level stuff on cellphones.

    Have a look at the requirements for signed MIDlets (that's J2ME) and compare it with Symbian ...

    Yes I work in the cellphone industry, on handsets, with Symbian and J2ME.

    Yes, it's on my Sony Ericsson P800 smartphone. I have maybe 7Mb free ram for it to use when browsing the web - and it works perfectly.

    Source? I've heard the exact opposite - which would be the reason for both the re-release (out in Japan) and a sequel in the works for GC and PS2.

    The above is why I have more fun with Nintendo games than any other games, as a whole. Sure - I own an Xbox and a PS2 as well, but the bulk of my games are for the Gamecube. Nintendo just makes games that are fun playing, and that you don't need to read the manual to understand.

    However, playing PGR2 on XboxLive is _really_ fun, I'll admit to that.

    SMTP Auth/SSL and IMAP/SSL - and mail suddenly became quite secure.

    On the contrary, it's rare for consoles to lose money. Sega Saturn, Dreamcast and Microsoft Xbox are the only ones with that businessmodel. The others either break even, make a tiny profit or in some very rare cases are sold at a marginal loss just after a hefty price cut.

    Exactly my point. What people say and what they do differ a lot.

    I just switched from PGR2 to Rallisport Challenge 2 - I can only hope I will like Unity and Odama more - since that is what I _want_.

    Unity and Odama, two games I'll definitely buy. I like companies who try to do something different, instead of just rehashing what's been done hundreds of times before.

    Time to go play some PGR2 on XboxLive. God I love that game ...

    No, in the US half the population believe in a young earth and creationists get their views into curriculums. (Two links below agree, both reference Gallup, I did not bother to find a premium source)

    You're unable to find anything like that in any other "western" society.

    My Red Herring link is now 404 - I had it bookmarked as "The Xbox could lose $900M over eight years" and "Microsoft takes heavy losses on the Xbox". I also have this PDF which does give a cost estimate on the Xbox, but not broken down.

    You missed the part where I said that I know a lot of religious history I guess. I do know about all the scientifics in the Bible - which is not suprising since it was written during the exile - and, surprise, in an area of the world that practically invented science!

    Genesis in the Bible is based on other creation myths from that region as well. Don't you know _anything_ about stories from outside the Bible?

    You really don't get it. I laugh at your kind - even "Mr. Stone" - who, as an engineer, doesn't even have a personal belief as to how old the Earth is - and who seems to think there is evidence of "The great flood" (a sumerian myth regarding flooding of the land between Tigris and Eufrat incorporated into Judean beliefs during the first exile).

    Please. Stop it. I cannot control the laughter.

    No. Moses, Jesus and Mohammed were three very bright people who used the local folklore to bring their views of a better society upon the masses.

    The laws of Moses, The Quran and various documents regarding Jesus' sayings makes a whole lot more sense when viewed that way.

    As another poster already pointed out: Creationism is not only about not wanting to believe evolution - it's about doubting everything we accept as fact and on which we build most of the devices we use today.

    Since my cellphone, microwave oven and computer work - the scientific theories that _also_ describe the age of the universe and earth also holds.

    Don't bother to answer - there's nothing you can say that will stop me smiling at the thought of reading the Bible literally (which is was never meant to, when written down during the exile).
