You're talking about Symbian OS (specifically, the UIQ version).
Runs in my P800, and it works just like that. Actually, during the development one of the key phrases for the usability people was "UIQ is like paper".
Software Error. Of course a document opened from Outlook should be... READ ONLY...
Yes, my Mom lost a lot of work she had put into making revisions to a document sent to her by a coworker. She called me up and explained how she had done... and it was exactly that. It's a serious software and usability flaw in Outlook - and although you can train users to avoid it the real fix is to correct the error in the software.
Install RedHat 9. Start up2date - enter information. Edit up2date config (easy, within the program) and remove "kernel*" from the exclude list.
Now kernel-updating is done in the same way everyting else - from the web with a few clicks with the mouse. Sure, you'll have to restart the machine aftwards (it's a new kernel.. ) but that's it.
Then use Google and be amazed at the number of links you'll get to OTHER places containing the same information, with the same very credible sources. Did you even bother to check that before you attacked the one example I posted?
I like time.nist.gov - the ".gov" part makes me believe it has good uptime. There's also a few ".mil" listed in TimeRC (which I use to sync time with).
I am a Software Engineer/Software Developer/Consultant/Embedded blabla. Values in code is called "magic numbers" and is frowned upon. They're usually found when doing code reviews and the programmer will have to go back and make them into variables.
The only "allowed" values tend to be 0 and -1, sometimes 1 also. They have a historical clear meaning, and quite often you won't make the code clearer by substituting them with defines/typedefs/variables.
Notice how I wrote "Come Jan 1st"? That's because the Swedish version of the EUCD will come into effect then.
"Fair use" in Sweden allows you to make copies of music you own and share with family and close friends. One of our ministers did just that as a christmas present for her relatives (she even downloaded the music from the net). The criminal investigation was dropped.
I see no difference between that and taping a show on TV to share with a friend. I would be surprised to find anyone here who would think of that as illegal.
Oh please. If you think I haven't attacked my own country (Sweden) numerous times you're just being silly. Of course I have, and of course I know about what my own country has done. We even broke our own laws by exporting arms to the USA when the USA was involed in an illegal war against Iraq lately, you know.
I judge americans on their actions and views. Are you claiming 70% of the american population (statistically) _didn't_ believe Iraq had something to do with Sept 11?
So, to recap. You left South America out since that would prove my point.
The people of america should maybe start by raising their collective intelligence. 70% of all americans thought that Iraq had something to do with Sept 11. To me that says that the majority of the american population are ignorant fools.
If you want hard facts I'm all too well prepared to deliver a bunch:) I'm refusing to accept work in the USA since a while back. I do not support a regime without respect for human values or democracy.
(When it comes to Europe the USA has, like the article says about Australia, already forced a lot of laws through with threats of trade sanctions)
In Sweden it's currently (come Jan 1st most certainly) legal to _download_ but not to _upload_. I.e - using KaZaa is perfectly legal as long as you don't share yourself.
I'm also European, and while oil was only one of the reasons for that war, it's still one of them. The other were to remove an unstable regime that would've been taken over by Iran sooner than later, please Israel and be able to move the troups from the REAL Sept 11 culprit - Saudi Arabia - to somewhere else in the region.
The embarrassing part is all the lies the US felt they had to feed their own population and the rest of the world with. I applaud the stance France took.
Could you use a _serverside_ buddylist? From what I could gather on the JabberAIM-ICQ gateway page that functionality is written but not released yet. I guess I could contribute myself but doing full time work & open source software & having a social life tends to take all my time already..:(
Yes, I want to. I have my own server with a few users, and I've looked into running Jabberd on it. However - support for ICQ server-side buddylists is crucial, and that isn't released yet.
When we "transparently" can move away from our ICQ clients to Jabber-clients and still have our buddylists intact then yes - we're set to switch here.
Or you use Opera for Smartphones on your Symbian-based phone (Sony Ericsson P800, Nokia 7650 etc) and view each and every page there is without problems.
I'll call PTA and the local newspaper and I'll sue the school too
... and become part of the [american] problem. It's BECAUSE you risk getting sued schools and teachers don't dare doing anything outside what's in the plans and books.
Well then I consider you to be almost as stupid as the spammers. Myself I get 1 or 2 spams a week, thanks to spamassassin. I block no domains.
Cutting mail does not help against spammers.

Oh come on .. this is the web .. make a little link for us to one-click-buy with ..
(I'm actually serious)
Nice list - it blocks both my IP and a whole ISP who's a friend of mine. I take your list as a joke.

If Linux gets the market share Windows has you'll se a LOT of "remote user exploits". Yes, _user_ - not "root". That's the difference.
Before you answer, read up on "shatter attacks" if you don't know what that is already.
This is worthy of a Slashdot news story all in itself. This was news to me - bad news.
*sigh*

ill-informed? Maybe you need to read up on _why_ I wrote that.

Not "severed" - it's "bombed".
.. "Divided States of Embarrasment" ..
There has never been a more trigger happy country than the US. What is it Eminem says again

That's my take on this also. What will Microsoft do when EU tells them that they can't ship Windows with integrated MSN and WMP in Europe?
I fully expect that to happen.
Americans need to get our more, see other countries, learn other languages ..
Or better, don't. We'll wave when passing by.
Or you use Opera for Smartphones on your Symbian-based phone (Sony Ericsson P800, Nokia 7650 etc) and view each and every page there is without problems.
