When I grew up I was taught that in the wars between Sweden and Denmark, the freedom fighters (called "Snapphanar" by the Swedes) were "terrorists" who raped women etc. Of course, that was how the winning side depicted the resistance. I now know better, since I've bother to look up the real history - not only the winner's side.
When's the last time you looked up how the US provoced a few wars to gain a few states from Mexico and Spain?
(I'm well aware about Texas btw, that example was a bit of a stretch)
It's their _only_ way of "fighting back". When you don't have the newest weapons the US can supply you with (as Israel has) you don't have much choice. It's a moot point though - Israel is the invader and aggressor. Israel is in no position to state any demands on the Palestinian people THEY OPPRESS until they've stopped occupying their land.
(PS: How's shooting civilian journalists "defense"? Look up what the IDF is, and what they do regularly)
Due to the war in Iraq the risk has _increased_ since the US doesn't seem to understand that pissing 2/3 of the world off doesn't go unnoticed..
Oh, and you _have_ seen the news about all the links between Iraq and terrorism were void, and that basically everything you were told before the war was lies?
You should draw your comparison even further. Anything has a value if someone else is prepared to pay for it. Our normal currency works that way - we only accept the usage of coloured paper as currency since banks are willing to guarantee their value. Anything can be used as a currency if the same applies - and it need not be banks - it's enough if _someone_ is willing to pay you for the items. Whether they are "virtual", a deck of gards or little bird dropplings is totally irrelevant.
Sure, but in that contract towards my ISP I've confirmed that I'm responsible for both actions done by persons I've given access to my connectio (i.e, my girlfriend) and that all actions done through my connection are legal.
So, if my girlfriend commits an illegal act my ISP will cut _me_ off - and that was my whole point. I am indeed responsible for what she does.
When Israel has stopped occupying Palestinian land, stopped shooting Palestinian kids in the head unprovoced - and stopped demolishing Palestinian homes.. THEN.. then we'll see if Palestinians still feel the need to defend themselves the only way they can (they're not backed by the US military you know).
Because people aren't like you, shouting "ANTI-SEMITE!" when it's not appropriate - they appreciate information even though the topic might be about something else.
(And, the thread had already begun discussing politics long before my post. You only saw "ANTI-SEMITE!" though, which says a lot about you.. )
Check it - you'll be surprised. "Joe Public" is _very_ well aware of what you can do with a chipped box. If you take a lot at the software-to-hardware tie ratio for the Xbox (and subtract the inflated numbers caused by Microsoft's giveaways) you'll see that there aren't many games sold...
Check again. According to MS, the Xbox had sold 9.4M on the 30:th of June. On the 30:th of March Nintendo had sold 9.55M Gamecubes.
So, even with a LOT of Xboxes only being sold since they can be modchipped (Gamecubes cannot) and run pirated games aswell as functioning as media-servers or emulator-hosts - AND is being subsidized by Microsoft (latest figures I've seen place that around $100 per unit) - it still fails to sell as good as the Gamecube.
The Gamecube, being good at... games. It's not hacked. It doesn't play DVDs. It doesn't function as a home entertainment unit capable of playing DivX, mp3 etc.... it's "only" got the best games.
:)

http://www.historyguy.com/Mexican-American_War.htm l - and other hits.
Read up on how you got Texas - and the lies that led up to that war. Quite similar to today and Iraq, actually.
Worldwide, the Gamecube has outsold the Xbox.
You give the same weapons to the Palestinians that the US is giving Israel and I promise you they'll use those instead doing suicide bombings.
(As a sitenote, Arafat has said the same thing)

AFAIK - check your contract with your ISP.

Having objections to what the occupant nation of Israel is doing is NOT anti-semitic, for two reasons:
... until you learn to separate "Opinions on Israel" with "Anti-semitic rantings" I suggest you stay away from any discussions on the matter.
*) Arabs are semites
*) I have nothing against the jewish people, I do care about what the state of Israel is doing though
Thank you. That was one of the more inspiring posts I've seen on Slashdot.
... and Israel is demolishing Palestinian houses on Palestinian land so that they can build the Berlin Wall #2.
Israel, which is defended by the US at all cost.
Their's no point in bullying them for they're bad grammar! There people too!
I just installed the PuTTY-port in the article .. it didn't ask me to connect to the net when I tried it ..
You can do that natively with Opera on the P800. Their small-screen rendering is _that_ good.

The vulnerability was disclosed to Microsoft on the 16:th of April. I don't know what's "rapid" about the fix appearing today.
1/3? The USA is pissing off _all_ other nations currently.
