Linux is the proverbial platform to accomplish the most insane crap just to prove you could do it. Much like say setting up an old tape drive (Audio Tape not Digital Tape) so you can find a way to first A) Put the entire Debian archive on them, and then B) Reinstall your machine from it. Its stupid is inane and no one in their right mind would ever think about doing shit like this but people do it just to see if ITS POSSIBLE, and the bragging rights to say that THEY DID IT!
I was thinking when I saw this that there would be a card directly from ones paypal account to the real world through mastercard's access channels. Now THAT would be sweet, at least for me.

Am I the only one who cringes a little at the sheer suckiness of most aspects of the original. Yeah when I saw it in the theatres I liked it but then I was also NINE YEARS OLD! And now they are going to do a remake? I am not going to be nine again so I know I won't go see it.
Now I wanna go forth make dummy files of all the top rated copywritten files out there, place em on a domain, and wait for the lawsuits to roll in and show their ignorance that just because something has the same hash, size, or name, doesn't mean its actually said file... just to piss them f&*kers off.
I remember reading about this game when it was in the making... and I told my girlfriend about it and she wanted a copy, not because shes christian, but because you could play on the side of the anti-christ and KILL christians. Im surprised that people assume this is an 'acceptable' game for the family because of its religious nature, like good pious people never raped tortured and murdered innocents. This game is definitely a mature one, if Jack Thompson doesn't want to lose face about his tirade against violent videogames, he should be against this one as well.

Oh its available online, it just wasn't put there with permission... if there is one thing that piracy will do is in essence preserve stuff for a long time (albeit perhaps lost in some batch of burned optical discs) but its the question what is being saved via piracy that is in question. I am not sure I would care to watch 1,000 year old porn, probably a little too tame.
the PS3 is probably a wonderful machine but I won't be getting one, because as many others have said its not really doing anything NEW. I have to give hats off to Nintendo for going in a new direction with its controller. Many companies would shy away from such an edgy move like this, because you make something that sucks and sometimes you don't get a chance to learn from your mistakes. If the Wii takes off and becomes a hit, how long before MS and Sony make their own variations of the Wii controller? If the Wii isn't a hit, do you think Nintendo will be able to come out with another machine or will it throw in the towel? Im hoping for the former, but the consumer will be the final arbiter of this.

This would only be wrong for Sony if A) They forbidded the re-sale of the PS3 through some sort of EULA (and then Sony would be the nasty person for telling people what they could and could not do with something they own) or B) Demanded a CUT of the profit that was made from the re-sale of the PS3, again see above. Other than that, some guy bought a PS3 yay for sony! handed it to some reseller who was willing to pay him to wait in line for him, yay for queue guy! Reseller guy who then sells it to someone else who is willing to buy it for an outrageous price because its a limited commodity, yay for reseller! Guy who has a PS3 for himself or a family member, gets to brag about the fact they have the hottest new thing and most everyone else doesn't. Yay for them!
So there was pushing an shoving in line, maybe a fight or two broke out, wow... like thats not any line that waits for a long time for anything... Ive seen worse in short lines for the bus.
If police officers recorded their actions for full public view, it would give every situation oversight and the potential for review. Yes people reviewing tense crazy situations after the fact are more likely on a witch hunt, but if the officer themselves would know that their actions are being recorded they would be less likely to do anything outside of limits, and it would also make the subject of any potential incident have less chance of trying to waste everyones time on things. Police are public servants, they serve the people, people should have oversight of what they do.
Personally if computer manufacturers started having bare bones machines with the OPTION of pre-loading at the customers request, and that pre-loading costing the price of the OS plus say an extra small amount for 'time to install' say like $10 - $20 or something, people would start to see the MS Tax being added and how horrendous it happens to be.
Computer - $499.99 (or whatever it is)
OS - $259.99 (or whatever it is)
OR you could get Ubuntu pre-installed for only $10 w an Extra DVD of source code for those who want to tinker.
Seeing the amounts so clearly laid out there you will find cost conscious individuals start questioning if they really need Windows on their machine. The fact that windows came bundled and the PC manufacturer did all that stuff in the background helped cement PC = Windows in most peoples minds, and its also why that IE = Internet in most peoples minds because IT WAS THERE, they didn't have to THINK about it. MS would go Bugnut if a large computer company started being transparent like this however because MS doesn't want people to make that decision, they simply want it on the machine no questions asked. Computer companies if you want MS to offer you an amazing deal on the OS, mention you will start being completely transparent about the pricing of the OS being added to the computer with an option for an alternative.
