Don't stand for this. I am a Netflix customer and here is my email to them.
Netflix,
I cannot express with enough emphasis my disappointment with your decision to sue Blockbuster because they had the audacity to compete with you. I have been a Netflix member for several years and while I find your service superior to Blockbusters (which I canceled after 2 weeks) I do have something it appears you do not believe to be common among your subscribers. That thing is a conscience.
If you continue to pursue this shameful attempt to intimidate future startups from trying to compete I guarantee you that I will cancel my account. We Internet users, which constitute a large part of your subscriber base, actually follow these events with keen interest and typically find this practice of yours reprehensible. Patenting a business model, while successful on your part, is seen by many as an abuse of the system.
I ask you, on behalf of many of your subscribers, to end this, UN-American attempt to eliminate competition through dodgy manipulations of our legal and patent system.
When did it become ok to start calling people nerds ? Seriously, is it ok to call a hip-hop dance show "N*ggers that dance" ? Before you say "Well that's different because that's a racial epiteth then how about a home remodeling show "Fags have fun with your living room" ?
I mean, since nerd IS still a word that is used in a negative way it should not be bandied around like this. I don't care if you're not offended by it. Some people are.
And before you say "Well you are posting this on a site labled 'news for nerds'" I say yes, I know that Einsten. And it bothers me, but I think if anything. This is the place that a discussion like this needs to happen.
It was sickeningly ridiculous that Bush had to do any convincing at all for this very successful war effort
No, it is sickeningly ridiculous that any poerson would be willing to accpet a war without convincing.
You may have heard WMD, I heard monster There are many monsters in this world. Many of them are our "friends". Shall we invade them all ?
there are no innocents in Iraq Funny, that is the exact same argument the terrorists use when blowing themselves up and several other civilians. I'm getting confused as to which side you are on.
Bush has said worse and been given almost a complete free pass ? His lie ?
Iraq had WMD. Iraq is in ca-hoots with Al Queda.
He then sent thousands of people to their deaths. Al Gore's unfortunate choice of words has killed 0 people. So don't give that crap of yours.
Oh, and BTW, if you say that Bush et al. THOUGHT they were telling the truth in all those pre-war selling points then you are either a liar or an idiot.
Grokster and it's co-defendant are not violating any copyrighted code. Don't oversimplify things. If you are not capable of understanding the details of that case then just shut up about it.
Here are some reasons you should consider OpenBSD's strengths.
Easy Install (and perhaps one of the quickest I've ever seen) Very Secure OS. (You mihgt just find the OS all of your future servers run) Ports System. - Like other BSDs, the ports system is truly a marvel. Software installation could not be easier. Good license standpoint - OpenBSD has a rather purist stance on the licenses for software they ship. It might seem extreme at first, but there is some good reasoning behind it. Documentation - OpenBSD's offical FAQ is very helpfull and answered 99.9% of the questions I had as a beginner.
The problem with the G4 500 systems is with the G4 processor itself. At 500 MHZ the cache is no longer stable which makes the chip unreliable. They are working on the problem. If you recall, the Pentium Zeon's (not all of them just a particular model) had similar problems I believe. At the hideously expensive prices Apple is charging for these systems, a ram price increase should not be too much of an issue.
Or, they'll unleash their ULTIMATE WEAPON upon us.
Celine Dion !!!

Another vote for OpenBSD's pf. Some things that haven't been mentioned so far.
pf supports redundant parallel firewalls with automatic failover via CARP. This is a rare feature unless you're willing to go buy a Pix.
pf supports routing of traffic based upon OS fingerprinting. Want incoming packets from Windows machines handled differently ? pf can do this.
When compared to setting up an IPtables firewall, pf is surprising simple and it's howto at openbsd.org cannot be beat.
Yes.
Apple to use Intel chips.
Debian 3.1 released.
C'mon, let's buy these guys a calendar.

Finally, I can build my own [engaDGET] reteo-encabulator.
A man doesn't automatically get my respect. He has to get down on his knees and beg for it.
Sorry, you're wrong.
