There's a video up on Google Video of the Second Life guys giving a talk about how their system works. Yeah, it is a fully streamed world. They actually stream vertices.
Most of the things listed seem to make results more ambigious, not narrow them down.
Even if you could radically change the way a search engine works, you then face an even bigger task: Forcing users to radically change their searching habits to fit your search engine.
And what the hell is "QDEXing"? Google reveals nothing, therefore we can conclude it does not, in fact, exist.
Just make sure that there's nobody down range, and don't do anything stupid with them (like throw them straight up over your head) and no one gets hurt.
He's done two parodies which could be considered nerdcore. He's also parody grunge, R&B, country, and so on. Does that mean he's an established grunge, R&B, country, and so on artist? I think not.
It's not about better or worse, or money not going to Microsoft or anything like that. The parent said, "It's a lot cheaper than a Gamecube, Wii, PS2, or PS3 dev kit.", which wasn't completely true.
PS2 had a Linux-based product called PS2Linux which was only, I think, $250. Came with 40GB hard drive, keyboard (nice keyboard), mouse, VGA cable, ethernet adapter, Linux software. No subscription needed. Not sure if you'd qualify it as a "dev kit" though.
Using real tools, trying real exploits. How long do you think 'til certain three letter orgs step in and round up everyone who had even remotely anything to do with it?
Using real tools and real exploits is fine, as long as it's not against "real" machines.
I'm sure up on YouTube there are dozens of boring videos of "l33t d00ds" doing just that.
It's Google's search engine, they can do with it as they please. However, if this was Microsoft, we'd be grabbing out pitch forks and lighting our torches.
Unreal is a very good engine. Ogre and all the other open source engines are not. They want something that will get out of their way, so they can spend their valuable time on creating an application, not bringing a 3D engine up to speed.
Of course! He can't wait to see if Santa brought him a Tickle Me Elmo.
Polar Rose relies on a combination of our unique face recognition algorithms and the collective intelligence of our users.
They seem to have made a fatal assumption.

The article is pointing out that there isn't any hype or anti-hype if don't believe in it. Like Santa.
If you want money, you have to pay for it, like the rest of us!
Hippies.
Step 1: Ask for big moon base budget
Step 2: Forget the moon: Build stuff in orbit of Earth
Step 3: Profit!!!

You were never a teenager, were you?

Everyone hates Microsoft because everyone hates Microsoft. You're not one of us if you don't hate Microsoft, so to speak.
(Note: I do not hate Microsoft, nor am I one of you.)
How often do you hear that someone is addicted to talking with his/her friends?
I think this is the wrong place to ask such a question.
Most people won't pay $60 for a 2D game.

I'm pretty sure you had access to all the VUs, DMA, GS, and what-nots, which would allow for hardware rendering.

How can a NIC decrease the latency in any noticable way?
You'd be surprised what marketers can do.

Of course, why the new system requirements are so ridiculously higher than XP is something I'm still waiting on a good answer for.
Three letters: XML. It's in every in Vista and it eats resources like hell.
Canadialand is the Nintendo of countries: Graphics simply do not matter.
So the actual quality doesn't matter, you just want control?
I'd gladly take quality over control.
That's right. The Internet brings you even lower quality crap, but on your schedule, and plastered with even more ads. Hooray.

For the Mars mission, I think the Doom 3 engine would have been better. Anyone else agree?
