I won't vote for Kerry because he agrees with Bush and supports the DMCA.
I won't vote for Kerry because he agrees with Bush and supports the war on Iraq.
I won't vote for Kerry because he agrees with Bush and supports the USA-PATRIOT Act.
I might vote for Cobb (the actual Green Party nominee), Nader is a more remote possibility.
Now, if the Libertarians are going to support Microsoft, that gives me enough incentive to not vote for Badinov (well, that and I have little enough information on him that I can't even remember how to spell his name).
Heretofore, I have had the Right, under the First Amendment, to copy anything I please. My right to distribute what I copy is constrained by copyright, but I do retain the right to copy (albeit only for my own use).
Now, without repealing the First Amendment, I am no longer permitted ownership of the work I have purchased, not even the copying of that work, not even the ability to copy for my own archives, for fear that I might distribute my archive without permission.
This, I think, means I am no longer permitted to own certain sorts of Presses. Henceforth, I will do as I'm told, and only as I'm told, by officially approved authority, as defined in the officially approved Press. So much for the First Amendment.
Until Bayer and Pfizer and the like sue spammers for trademark infringement on Cialis and Viagra and such, I'm going to presume such spam is sent by Bayer and Pfizer or whomever, and boycott accordingly.
It's all downhill from the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (but let's not forget the effect impaling a musician/congresscritter had on the duration of copyright). Criminalization of copyright infringement is an inexcusable abuse of legislative power.
You ought never vote for anybody who supports the DMCA. Not Bush. Not Kerry. Nobody who voted for the DMCA deserves your vote.
I think it a weird thing when I find myself backing IBM, the scary Big Blue of my youth, the Big Blue bringing three separate software patent infringement charges against SCO, all in defense of the GPL.
Few computer users realise they're publishers, thus they don't realise copyrights can apply to their trade in files.
Now that all computer users have what are, in effect, their very own presses, they're likely to publish whatever occurs to them as interesting.
Quite a few of our novice publishers will get to learn about plagiarism, copyright infringement, even Intellectual Property and that idea's ramifications.
So, are the courts going to treat us as the publishers we are, or as consumers of the Great Media, to be controlled and exploited?
I don't see how this will encourage tourists to fly, nor even to travel at all. All the air passengers now are business class who must fly, or change their jobs.
The airlines need not wonder about why they're going bankrupt.

If we can boycott Amazon for One Click, we can boycott WAMU, too.
Hell, let Bayer sue spammers for infingement on Cialis.
I think that inaction on the spammer trademark front shows which corporate interests are behind at least part of our spam and virus/worm problems.
I don't see the difference between spyware (adware) and a virus. Is this renaming of malware just successful PR by Gator & friends?

Nearly half the eligible voters in 3000 cast no ballot, you going to claim them for Bush too? No wonder he was elected.
After all, only a conspiracy theorist would point to Skull and Bones. ;-)
Vote for Bush, vote for the DMCA.
Nader ran against the DMCA in 2000, I can't see why he'd change his mind in 2004.
Kucinich, too, ran against the DMCA. Pity nobody cared.
You ought never vote for anybody who supports the DMCA. Not Bush. Not Kerry. Nobody who voted for the DMCA deserves your vote.
Ummmh... Note that the IBM countersuit to SCO does indeed contain three patent infringement claims.
I think it a weird thing when I find myself backing IBM, the scary Big Blue of my youth, the Big Blue bringing three separate software patent infringement charges against SCO, all in defense of the GPL.
The point'll likely be moot, but what does the Free Software Foundation (aka RMS) think of IBM's countersuit of SCO for software patent infringements?
It is primarily advertising for Viagra.
Slackware had some very insecure months after Wind River took over Walnut Creek and cut Slackware loose.
I don't see a decrease in spam.
Allowing airline passengers to keep and bear arms would eliminate the threat of kamakaze hijackers.
Next election, remeber to vote against any legislator who voted for or favors the DMCA.
Aren't these the guys that sent Patrick Volkerding (and Slackware) packing?
They should speak to Phil Lesh (pity John Entwhistle is gone) to find out how thunderbombs create Deadheads.

Ummm, Kesey's dead, and didn't live (or often party) in Elmira.
