Well, like I said...it would be geared towards the "senior citizen" bracket...think of it...a nice old grandmother who loves to garden but can't because she has some kind of messed up physical problem that prevents her from doing yardwork...now she can at least do the same motions without all the stress and pain.
So do I...the ladyfriend and I are actually going through Secret of Mana (or Secret of Mana 2, if you are a purist) and I just finished going through Secret of Evermore for the umpteenth time...what I meant by commotion though was it flying off the shelves nearly as quickly as they can get it on the shelves. It's still fresh and at the forefront of consumer's minds...
Look, I can understand having a favourite or whatever...but as a gamer, you really are doing yourself a major disservice by limiting yourself to Nintendo-only products...
I mean, do whatever you want, not my place to tell you what to do...I'm just saying, you are missing out on a LOT by not going past Nintendo.
If you don't like FPS, that's ok...there is still a lot of fun on the 360 to be had...Viva Pinata, Dead Rising, Oblivion, Rockstar Table Tennis...don't forget Mass Effect comes out soon and Fable 2 comes out next year...there are a lot more, just gotta look.
As far as the PS3 goes, in my mind it will be worth getting one when God of War 3 comes out...the games I have for PS3 are OK, but I think God of War 3 is when I'm going to start loving the PS3 as a GAMING CONSOLE...cause right now, it's doing everything BUT gaming in my home theater.
Wait wait wait...you are compaining about "waggle" being "bolted on" to the Wii?
I suppose you have never heard of this gaming system from a company called Sony. See, at first, this gaming system (known as the "PS3") was shown with this odd-looking boomerang-type controller...and for some strange reason, shortly after Nintendo revealed their "waggle stick"...this company Sony suddenly had a controller that kinda did the same thing!
So here we have Nintendo with a "waggle-stick"...Sony, the "winner" of the 6th-gen consoles (in terms of sales) trying to copy who was the "loser" of the 6th-gen consoles (in terms of sales), and then you have Microsoft sitting there going "You are both fuckin nuts, we did that shit 8 years ago on the PC....it's not that great"
Basically, according to you, Microsoft is in the right on this one and Sony/Nintendo have been licking the wrong frogs...got it. You should be more clear next time, then we wouldn't have to have this lengthy recap.
For the record, I have the Wii, PS3, and 360...while I enjoy them all, the PC still fsking rapes them.
That publishers have made in reference to the Wii are most certainly the following:
No Star Wars light sabre-centric game out (or even officially announced, for that matter), no type of Gardening game (think about it...what would sell to grandmas around the country better than a Garden simulator using the Wiimote?)...etc, etc, etc.
Really, the possibilities are VERY large indeed when it comes to the Wii's control sceme, despite its lack of power. I know these things aren't put together overnight, but developers really need to start pushing stuff like that out soon, before the Wii commotion dies down.
...while I'm not going ape shit over Halo like a large portion of the "console-only" generation (I have yet to meet a long-time FPS PC gamer who thinks Halo was anything beyond "entertaining") I did rather enjoy Halo 1 and 2...Halo 3 will hopefully bring a nice close to this story arc.
Strictly speaking of the Halo franchise, I'm more excited about Halo Wars than Halo 3...but what do I know, I grew up on Zork.
You know what sickens me about people like you? You aren't a gamer. Oh sure, you may spend hours in front of a screen pressing buttons like the rest of us, but your mentality makes you something of a 4 year old throwing a temper tantrum about nothing.
Stop being so "loyal" to one company. I mean, first off the company you chose to be loyal to shut down Lik-Sang...I may love their consoles, but that move alone made me despise Sony through and through. Secondly, the "stupid" Wii and "crappy" 360 have some fantastic games for them that you can't play anywhere else.
In fact, you might not know this, but when you buy systems from different console manufacturers, you actually have access to *gasp* MORE GAMES. Go figure, eh?
So do us all a favour, stop being a fucking idiot, and play as many different games you can on as many different systems you can. Who knows, you may suprise yourself and transform from a "rabid fanboy" to an actual "gamer".
Joanna: You know what, Stan, if you want me to wear 37 pieces of flair, like your pretty boy over there, Brian, why don't you just make the minimum 37 pieces of flair?
Stan: Well, I thought I remembered you saying that you wanted to express yourself.
Personally, I wouldn't touch the 360 at this point on hardware issues and stupid add on costs like a proprietary hard drive and headset, and the Xbox Live cost. But that's just me.
I know that I am just one random person, but I do own the PS3, Wii, and the 360. I can honestly say that out of all of them, between the games and the overall "feel" of the system, the 360 is by far my favourite.
I think you misunderstood me...I was referring more to the people who own consoles from ONLY one brand because it is "better" than the rest and the rest "suck".
Timing has nothing to do with it...I fully agree with you, waiting is indeed a very smart path to choose. But when people have the "all gaming systems/companies but this one suck" mentality....that's what I was referring to.
Appreciated, but consider this: UT3 is a HIGHLY anticipated title...knowing that it will come out for the 360 (albiet in a slightly less functional form), what do you think is more likely to happen: a 360 owner will pay the 600 dollars for a PS3 and then another 60 dollars for the game, or just 60 dollars for the game?
All I'm saying is that even if the PS3 version is more functional, the very fact that it will be released on multiple systems lowers the chances of someone buying a PS3 BECAUSE of UT3.
Personally, I don't care. I prefer my online shooters to not be filled with people jumping all willy-nilly
Brand loyalty amongst gamers is the dumbest thing ever conceived. You miss out on so much by being "loyal" and by not delving into other systems that it makes you very much like the all-show-no-go crowd that emerged after The Fast and the Furious...
Bah, I keep forgetting that Bioware didn't make Kotor 2....and I agree with those above me, it was a great game, just wasn't finished (as was already said)
Unregardless (yes it's a word) Mass Effect looks to be amazing...been the game I have been waiting for to spring for an HDTV, so I'm excited for more than just the game itself:-)
I have been eagerly awaiting Mass Effect since it was first announced...looks like Bioware is gonna do it again (hopefully, the will do a "Baldurs Gate" type of success again, as opposed to a "KOTOR 2" mistake)
Do yourself a favour and don't look at Wikipedia or read any gaming reviews...the story line is one of the most interesting story lines in YEARS...not to mention there are more than a couple "holy shit" plot twists.
I didn't mean in this situation exactly, I just meant in general...there are so many various distros and so many organizations "selling out" that the entire purpose of FOSS (and the open source Linux movement in general) is starting to get glossed over with a bad reputation (one that is misplaced, IMO)
People are so eager to get their own version of something out, they forget that if more people worked together on the same stuff, it would turn out better...
According to my company, the "and such" would be classified as things like hacking/circumvention websites, a large portion of (but not all) gaming-related websites, fantasy sports websites...etc.

Oh.....wrong game.

Not to mention those that have condos/apartments.

While I agree that it is a travesty to not mention Metroid Prime 3, don't forget that teh slash gets advertising dollars from MS.
Such is the life of corporate sponsership.

In other words, it makes you a fucking moron.
Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but Unreal Tournament 3 won't be a PS3 exclusive... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal_Tournament_3
The way I see it, the day that the word "bling" became an entry in the dictionary, anything goes.
