These are the qualities you should be praising in Halo - these are the things that make it stand out above frankly better shooters. Not aiming, not controls, not length, and not storyline.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize an opinion could be wrong. My apologies, Mr. AC. You have shown me the truth!
While I agree with Mr. Shill here about Halo not being as much of a mind-blowing game that many people see it as (in my opinion, of course), I still think it's a good game. It had a good aiming system, the controls were tight, the graphics were decently pretty, the length was perfect, and the story line was interesting.
As far as the Halo 3 Beta graphics go...any self-respecting gamer should know that you NEVER judge a game based soley on the beta. Console folks just aren't used to the idea of a beta and as such they took it to mean that this is what the game will be like.
Whooptydoo. Until I can go to my local computer shop or goto new egg and do something other than upgrade it's hard drive, it's still a gaming console regardless of it's other capabilities.
While I LOVE all the things I can do with my 360 and my PS3 in terms of extra stuff beyond gaming, gaming is why I bought a GAMING CONSOLE. Yes, I do use them for things other than gaming, but honestly I would be very very happy if Microsoft and Sony had spent more money and R&D time in making their systems better gamingconsoles, and less of a multi-use piece of hardware.
It raises the functionality of the consoles, but I would much rather be paying less for less functionality. The less I shell out for the console, the more I can spend on the games...which is exactly why I want a gaming console in the first place.
That's precisely my point for suggestion gamerankings.com...it's a site that offers access to a BUNCH of different reviews all from one central page...just open up a few tabs, grab something pleasent to drink, and get to reading:-)
you're right, it's been roughly 9 hours...see, that's the problem with your wife screwing you before you goto work...it's all you can think about until you get home.
Slashdot's story quality is going down the toilet fast.
People have been saying this for years now...are you folks really trying to tell me that slashdot was once so awesome and amazing that not even god could have handled it?
Im in the same situation as you...full time job, etc. My whole point is that I don't really have all that much time for the games that I want to actually play the entire way through...by spacing them out, it leaves less things on my "still need to play" list. Since I have become an adult, that list has grown from never having more than three to four titles at a time on it to being nearly a page long...and never getting shorter:-(
I know most of the major gaming website/magazines out there are payed in some way or another from publishers/developers/whoever, but I have found that using gamerankings.com usually helps bring things truth to light...besides, I enjoy reading reviews that are polar opposites of each other...it's similar to getting your news from different biases (left/right/whatever)...kinda helps paint you a full picture...between all the extra crap and spin thrown around from each news source, you are usually able to come up with some bit of middle ground that gives you an idea on what really happend (although that is becoming increasingly difficult)
Naturally, the best review is a play-through yourself, but that's not always viable (or wanted.) A very good way to get unbiased reviews is to look up personal opinions on various websites such as Amazon, Rottentomatoes, etc...
What with all the crazy shit coming out in the next few months for the 360, PS3, and the Wii, the last thing that I needed was another game that would suck up 40-60 hours playtime...this at least gives me (and many others) a chance to play through all the stuff coming out by the end of the year.
Take your time Rockstar. We will buy it regardless of when you release it.
Your body type (ectomorph, etc.) will play a large part in how easy or difficult it is for you to see results. I know this won't really help you, but unfortunately the "ideal" workout is different for every person...it took me nearly a year to figure something out that worked well for myself. The best advice I can give you is this: vary up your workout every 6 weeks or so, try to stay away from "fad" programs as they don't really seem to be helping you (and the majority of them are to help break pleateu's anyway), and just experiment.
If you are naturally skinny and have a hard to gaining weight, then train with that in mind...vice versa as well.
In moderation there probably won't be any harm, but when I hear people who argue that there's no way they could have such muscles by eating a normal diet, I think to myself, you know, maybe humans aren't meant to have such muscles.
I more or less agree with you, however there is one thing you are forgetting: being in shape is 80% diet, 20% exercise. You can exercise all you want, but until you change the way you eat, you will be only to go so far...changing what you eat (it's not really a "diet", more of a lifestyle choice...diets rarely work because when you get off them, you don't continue eating the same way that kept you healthy) is one of the most necessary parts. Unless you are in professional sports or training for some crazy marathon, you don't need to count every single solitary this and that...but paying attention to what you are eating is still vitally important to being in shape and fit.
It's funny you mention that. I'm 23 years old, 5'7", 205 pounds. I have a 48" chest, 17" biceps, and come out at around 14-15% body fat. My total cholesterol as of my last physical (which was a month ago) was 134. I take no supplements other than vitamin C due to a weak immune system, a simple skim milk and whey protein shake before bed, and an everyday multivitamin you can buy at any local grocery store. I run the mile in under 7 minutes, do dead lift sets with 325 pounds, and can climb nearly 12 flights of stairs before starting to get winded.
Yet my BMI makes me look like I am ready to fall over any second due to my short but wide and thick stature. Go figure.
I think we can safely say that the PS3 is definitely NOT the problem.
Not to start a flame war (not like it hasn't already been started from TFA...) but I would imagine that it is indeed the PS3 causing problems.
Think about it. It's a modified version of the engine used in Table Tennis which was what? That's right, a 360 exclusive. They have to port it over to the PS3, not the other way around.
I could see the lack of a garunteed hard drive and the (comparitively) small size of a DVD-9 being an issue, but realistically these are not problems so big that they couldn't figure it out with a little noodle grease.
I can't claim to know what is causing the delay because I'm not developing the game. I will say, however, that between porting the engine to an ENTIRELY different beast (and like it or not, you cannot deny that the PS3 is one fuck of a powerful beast) and all the gameplay footage we have seen being rendered on a 360 and not a PS3, IMO it's the PS3 slowing things down.
I have been wrong in the past, of course. My gut tells me I'm not in this instance.
Feh, no matter, while I like exclusives soley for the reason that they are tethered to a console's specific hardware, I like the idea of multi-platform releases. In this way, the largest number of people have the opportunity to play video games, and at the end of the day that's all I care about...the platform that it is done on is of no consequence to me, really.
While I understand that technically the ESRB was "created" by the industry, the recent shenannigans that they have been pulling makes me believe that they are "funded" by those with certain political motivations.
The inneptitude they have displayed as of late has been astounding.
In all honesty, Halo has never really done it for me...I'm not saying that Halo 1 + 2 were bad games...they were very entertaining and well done. They just weren't as mind blowing and earth shattering as they apparently are to millions of other people.
That being said, Halo does have some interesting back story and information regarding the universe...the possiblities for it are HUGE. Much like Star Wars, however, I think most of the history and back story is going to be fleshed out by fan-fic and third party books/comics/whatever. You should pick up the graphic novel some time though, very entertaining stuff.
In this instance, it broke due to my own stupidity (not tightening the heatsink back down again)
Still, defects are to be expected...happens with everything. I'm not saying that they should be happening on a mass scale, but in my own personal experience with the 360, I haven't had any issues and as such I don't care.
Good example is sushi. I love sushi. I have also never gotten sick from eating sushi. I would imagine people that get sick from it the first time just plain don't like it.
At this point, if I got sick from sushi, I'll still eat it and love it
I enjoy defending any gaming system because they all can be defended...like I said, they all have their positives and negatives. As a person whose life centers around gaming, it is disturbing to even consider someone would be a brand whore as a gamer (well, I mean it does in general, but ESPECIALLY with gaming, a culture that needs as much cohesion as possible)
More than any other reason though, it's because I'm bored at work and it amuses me:-)
Not saying it isn't bad, I'm saying it's sporatic... I have seen people on here claim that every person they know with a 360 has had to return it at least once, and then there are others (such as myself) that barely know anyone with any issues. Hence the phrase "sporatic".
Ironically, those that tend to have issues themselves tend to have friends that also have issues with the 360...as others have mentioned, this is likely due to "bad batches"
I'm sorry, I didn't realize an opinion could be wrong. My apologies, Mr. AC. You have shown me the truth!

She'd be upset if I talked about her any other way
...you're a sly one...

Just to piss you off, yes I would.

Am I the only person that uses BitLord?

As previously mentioned, perhaps the "giants" in IBFF are who you are referring to, but not everyone who is a "body builder" juices. Not to mention there is nothing wrong with protein shakes... Whey protein is the name for a collection of globular proteins that can be isolated from whey, a by-product of cheese manufactured from cow's milk.
Did you not even read the last paragraph in my post?
Is it just my imagination, or are the shills on here getting lazier?
